Do you expect the 3090 launch to go as bad as this did or the fact its double the price will mean some stock will be left on the shelfs ? I think a big part of the problem was the 3080 being somewhat of a bargain in the price /performance bracket so was always going to have crazy demand ... how many are prepared to pay double the 3080 price for an estimated 20 to 25% performance increase :confused:
I'd say that the higher cost won't put the scalpers off, so be prepared for more of the same if Nvidia don't improve their website to combat bots.
 
I find it hilarious seeing this chaos of people rushing to buy these. I'm good waiting till Jan 2021 for things to settle down before I buy one of these. Patience usually pays off. Only concern is power usage since I have a 650W 80+ PSU.

Who knows, perhaps by then AMD will change my mind and I'll get something different.
 
I've cancelled my pre-order and going to wait for the mentalness to calm down :) No major rush anyway, my 1080Ti is absolutely fine still

Major new games drop in November, so until then it's really not that important. I also wait for a few weeks after release before playing a game (for a few patches and better drivers to come out, sort out issues). So I'm also just going to wait and see. Maybe AMD releases a monster, or maybe Nvidia drops prices. One thing is for sure, Nvidia will have sorted out the supply issues by the time PS5/Xbox SX are released, which is the second week of November.
 
For those of you with AmazonPay still pending I messaged support about this. They said that the AmazonPay will timeout and cancel.

After replying asking for it not to be canceled so I can stay in the pre-order queue I received the following reply

Got the same response too. Kind of annoying, as I expected the order was in place and didn’t place another order elsewhere.

Happy to wait though. Stock will eventually come and maybe we’ll get lucky with currency exchange rates.
 
been on the phone to this poxy company for an hour can't get through are they all saying to each other don't answer the phone.

They don't answer on this forum, or web form or via Twitter. It's absolutely ridiculous and shameful. Want my order canceled since they're not communicating but even that seems impossible.
