** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES (3090 / 3080 / 3070) NOW ONLINE AT OcUK **

Don't get me wrong, as a long term pc gamer this scalping business chokes my chicken. But given the cut-throat nature of commerce here in 2020, percieved value through scarcity will always inflate prices surely? It happens all the time. The 'actual' value of an RTX 3080 is completely dictated by the free market, and will balance as volume increases and scarcity drops.

Oh absolutely, it's to be expected and has been going on a long time, especially in other markets like the trainer market. The scarcity and demand for these cards is obviously a dream come true for any scalper that got their hands on one. It's just really frustrating for the likes of us but what can you do? I hope something can be done to a least hinder bots in the future, otherwise before you know it everyone will be using them, consumers and scalpers alike and websites just can't cope, they'd probably struggle anyway but bots just screw them up entirely. In all honesty with hindsight I'd have probably used a bot just to save sitting refreshing sites for nearly 3 hours.
I didn't have anything like this trouble at the 1080 launch, they were fairly scarce but nothing like this.
I can't complain too much though, I'm 121 in the que for the TUF, so I'm hoping for late October early November. I've just bought a monitor as well, I've been gaming for the past 10 years or so on a TV, so you can imagine how crappy my last monitor was. So I can't wait to get some 2k 144hz gaming underway for FPS's and the like :-D
4K HDR is nice but I keep hearing 144hz is the way to go, over 60hz 4k for pretty much anything competitive...

Good luck with getting your TUF soon, yeah i'm looking forward to new card... my GTX 1070 has been really creaky on FS2020 in 4K. like 25FPS at medium (groans)... luckily No.4 at the mo for a Ventus, bring it on!

The Queue updates are being done via Email only and will only be sent out once stock of cards have been received/dispatched. The email will also include your updated queue position taking into account the people who are now cancelling because of the long waiting times

Customer Services at Overclockers are not responding to customers asking about their Queue positions and will simply tell you that you will receive an email update as soon as one is available

I posted here about the Asus Rog Strix, I spoke to Customer services today, the realistic wait for me and others who have ordered the 3080 Rog Strix are next year

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/foru...f-you-ordered-the-rog-strix-3080-oc.18901936/

This can't be right as Gibbo stated in the update thread that a "small" number of Gigabyte Gaming OC cards were shipped. I was 3rd in the queue and have had no update email to say I'm now number 2 or number 1, so either the updated queue emails aren't getting updated properly or none were sent out....or they were sent out but not in the correct order.

I got my first and only Update Queue Position for ASUS GEFORCE RTX 3090 ROG STRIX GAMING OC 24GB,
2 Oct 2020, 14:01 (7 days ago).
Date ordered: 24/09/2020
Any news would be appreciated, as I'm getting the impression none of these cards are moving ie: Goods-in/Goods-out.
Update me Pls.
Does anyone know anything?

I fancy WQHD 3440 x 1440 144Hz would be nice, Overclockers stocks the monitor I fancy, and if they get the AMD 5000 Ryzens in on time probably go for that monitor and a Ryzen, then look at GPU

Thank you. I'll be looking forward to a reaction.
Took forever to get my response but wait times are approx. 4 months on all 3080 models, hopefully the volume of stock in circulation increases within that time, but if not it's trying my luck for 3080 20GB model (but I don't think I need it) or just waiting before I start my next build.

If AMD can deliver they could grab quite a bit of custom from Nvidia.

how long is it usualy until this has died down and relaible stock resumed ? i guess you cant know because of the impact of covid etc etc this time around ?

i'd like to have free choice of a graphics card and have time to read reviews like i did last time when i bought my ancient 6850 ha ha

This is my problem, I'd rather wait for the reviews etc. and make the most informed choice I can than just pre-order one and then know there's one that suits my requirements better for a simialr price that I could have got instead.

But as soon as you've done all of that the cards have sold out and your down the queue. I should have ordered a 3080 sooner and had I done so when the queues were only a couple of hundered I would have been ok, but I delayed while I was speccing out the rest of my build and that was a mistake. At least it will be if the AMD cards or 3080 20gb model aren't what I'm after.

ive seen from lurking about before i got my account unlocked again that people ordered whatever brand willy nilly and then saw reviews afterwards saying there are issues

obviously the worst of it has passed now but id still rather wait until less obvious issues have come out of the woodwork !

im only looking at the 3080 really not the 3090 but it is still a lot of money to gamble !

though you could probably sell it on for more money to a desperate person if you get you hands on one ha ha

I'd hazard a guess at early next year (Jan/Feb) before they are available off the shelf, so to speak.

is there any update on ROG Strix 3090 oc?

No official word from either ASUS or Overclockers, presuming that ASUS haven't informed Overclockers of anything yet. Other areas of the internet state possibly next week, possibly week after. But who knows really, all we can do is sit patiently and wait for something from someone official.

ASUS did state on Facebook that 'all Strix, TUF, OC and non-OC are all coming at the same time. All being produced equally', But I've seen TUF cards released before the Strix so I'm thinking there's a supply issue of Nvidia chips being sent to AIBs somewhere.
