** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

What does one thing have to do with another?

A government is supposed to protect and serve the needs of the people.

A business is supposed to provide a service whilst generating profits for the owners.

The government also needs to bolster the economy and the methods involved are almost identical to those in business. They have their own stakeholders they need to serve who've funded the party.

Not sure that's been the case here, I think demand has actually dropped off slightly from the hype just after nVidia's presentation of the cards. The figures shown have been pulled apart a little, we've gone from people expecting the 3080 to be around 80% better than a 2080ti to more conservative estimates of 30-50% outside of ray tracing and DLSS situations.

have they? Its was always 80% faster than a 2080 not 2080ti. From the first day and Nvidia pitch I expected the 3080 to be 30-50% faster than a 2080ti.

I have now adjusted my exceptions to 10-20%. Maybe less than 10% is your have a good overclcking 2080ti and 3080 barely overclock at all.

I'm more and more likely to go for the FE now, considering the one card I wanted (EVGA) isn't what I hoped it would be

Same here, FE it is for me now, should be a pretty solid card.

Interested to know what side the price increases are, suppliers or OcUK, I am a purchase manager, and to be completely honest, I wouldn't of put place holder pricing up as you just end up annoying your customers.

I buy on price alone, couldn't care less which retailer. Pay on your credit card then you're covered as they are jointly liable with the retailer. So great aftersales service is irrelevant to me, and not something i'd pay extra for.

Indeed

And to be fair to OCUK, if there isn't customer loyalty from the likes of us, why should they do themselves out of thousands of pounds extra? I'm sure Gibbo wants his Christmas bonus.

good old Jensen sitting at home watching all the pre orders flying into NV hq soon lol.. or perhaps sitting in the kitchen cooking up the next come to papa edition 3090 ti..

i assumed black was the same deal as automotive marketing where they do something extra and call it a black edition

Me too, and it is "black gaming" actually, and it does have a back plate...

Agreed, some competitors have not listed prices. This keeps expectations in check to some degree. Listing prices and then adjusting them higher is only going to annoy people. I see no good in listing prices as early as they did.

If that was the case why couldn't they have just put TBC as the price. That way it would have prevented all this annoyance.

After looking at the prices I’m also pretty ****** off now. We got told the higher models may get a price bump but even the lower models have too. Yeah I completely agree. They acted as if they were doing us a favour by giving us prices (can’t remember the actual quote used), when absolutely none of the prices at all were correct.
