i just sold my gtx 1080 strix for £200 and i think i i will get a 3070 is that a good upgrade?

hi i game at 1440p
3070 then. Sold your 1080 Ti a bit early though as you'll have to wait a few weeks.
AMD might also have something competing with that by then.
Even if AMD has something good to offer, custom models will be launched next year. That's a long time xD

yea it was not a TI 1080..

You'd get at least £500 minus fees. Probably closer to £550 minus fees for a Strix.
I think it is too late to sell.
You'd basically get 3070 money which is similar performance.
Am not expecting or looking for big money for it just some pennies to put towards a 3090
But i don't want to sell it and then find the price of the 3090 gets jacked right up due to supply & demand pricing or not being able to hold of a 3090 for months due to no stock

In which case, the price is only going in one direction once cards are available for sale. Sounds like you plan on selling anyway.

I normally keep my old GPU's to put in my second PC system but my Strix 2080ti doesn't fit in it case
My Brain wave says buy a new case so it does fit

Sell it while you can still get a decent chunk for it...use your 1080 in the meantime....

I'm still gaming on a GTX 1080 and having no issues. (1440p tho)

1440P Is fine with a 1080- but the 3070 has more performance and if you can flog the 1080 get 200 sheets then a 3070 is a good value upgrade imo.

It seems that with every iteration of Zotac, the fan gets better. I like silent cards, do you know if the fan specced on the latest models will be quiet?

So never having tried to buy a card on launch day how bad is OcUK’s website going to be at 1400 on the 17th? I won’t lose any sleep if I miss out on launch day, though I would like to get one then, but I hope to have a 3080 before Cyberpunk is released.

Absolutely nothing my 2080 cant handle atm but cant help but want to get a 3080 (would love a 3090 but cant bring myself to spend that much) tempted to get a founder edition this time as I like the look, for what ill get for the 2080 ill probably keep it for my sons pc, need to find out how quiet or loud the fe will be first
