NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti to launch in January 2021?

Launch a new card before people have even been able to buy the previous one. Comical..

If it were going to replace the current 3080, you'd have a valid point, but this will be a much more expensive card, competing with the 6900XT segment of the market & not the 6800XT.

As if this 30 series launch couldn't be any more farcical. I mean, they've just made their 3090 obsolete lol

I'm glad Nvidia weren't in control of my internet the past twenty years otherwise I'd still be using a 56k modem.

We knew they'd want to compete with the 6900XT but even that product seems poor value compared to the 6800XT, which depending on price and stock, is the card to go for imo

Yeah that's going to be another paper launch. Still waiting on my day 1 order for the 3080 LOL

Also another 10GB vram. They gonna be asking for a grand or more straight up.

Nvidia know how to give people buyers remorse for a product that has yet to be shipped out 2 months late. If this Ti news is legit LOOOOL

They can **** off. Get the products they've already sold shipped. I've given up and bought a 1660 super just so I don't have a 6 grand ******* paperweight sat in the corner while I wait for the rocking horse **** that is the 3080. Now they tell me a Ti version is coming in Jan? I should have just stuck to consoles and bought another motorbike.

When can expect shipment? After the Ti version of the lube releases? Pre-order now tho of course. Honestly, I was eyeing a lovely Triumph Street Triple before all this. Totally backed the wrong horse.

Can't make a proper stock amount = Worthless company
Charge 1500 for RTX 3090 and after 2-3 months they release 3080Ti for 500 less. Greed at it's finest
Congrats Nvidia.

I know right, I mean its like they havn't done exactly the same thing before with the 1080ti... oh wait...

They could make a knocked down 3090 with 12GB VRAM and sell that as the 3080Ti, makes it easier to hit $999 MSRP as well.

Videocardz leak indicates a 3080 architecture with more vram but wccftech leak indicates a 3090 with less vram, wonder which site I'd trust more...

3090 Titan relaunch incoming!

The way I see it is depending on the speed of the 6900xt, nvidia will look to counter with a card 1% faster overall. I speculate that will be about 5% slower than 3090. They will release 3080ti at £1100, the premium over the 6900xt being the extra RT performance and dlss (although amd will have their own version, I have to think that it will be inferior and like nvidia, amd will take time to bring it up to the same quality).
I doubt the 3080ti will be faster than 3090 as that destroys the stack. I can't remember seeing a card with a lower number in the stack to outperform the one above. The 3090 is not the Titan. The box main slogan inside says something along the lines of "made by gamers for gamers".
They probably wanted the 3090 to be a titan, but knew AMD had a fast card. They couldn't risk them coming out with a faster gaming class card, so released as 3090. A faster gaming card would have to be called 3090ti. Which then starts the downhill of pricing, they would probably have to greatly reduce the price of 3090 and place the ti at the current 3090 price.
5% slower than the 3090 would mean the 3080 Ti is just an overclocked 3080. 3090 is only 8% faster at 1440p than the 3080.

OK, from a 4k point of view, it's a little more. But tbh the 3080 and 3090 are so close to each other, a card positioned inbetween could easily be an overclocked 3080, as much as using a 3090 with slower memory bus could lose a few percent performance. My point wasnt so much a perfect prediction. More so pointing out the difficulties of releasing a 3080ti, that is faster than a 3090. Something I keep seeing.

Given the 20GB was already cancelled I'd lean towards a 12GB 3090, also doesn't cannibalize 3090 sales and makes it easier to hit the $999 msrp.
