NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - OFFICIAL PRE-ORDER THREAD!

But this needs to know the relative costs really to make a selection! And will be using Paypal but so be it if 10 minutes down the queue.
Using Paypal? Are you going to finance this via paypal credit? If you use paypal credit there is a time delay between when paypal itself will pay OcUK. Minutes, hours I don't know how long it takes. So let's assume by your assumption it only 10 minutes down teh queue and lets's assume they have 50 in stock, it has been posted they have single digit stock numbers possibly doubly digit. With the website lagging to a crawl and lets say best case they have cards in stock.

10 minutes and the customary OCUK website lag will wipe out that stock the moment it goes live. Is paying via your debit card or credit card not an option?. It your choice of course but if you want to secure your best chance which admittedly not great for the most of us taht would be your best option.

I'll probably buy the first 5090 that says it's in stock because of FOMO meaning I may end up with 1 not as good or not as good value as some others.

Doesn't matter a 5090 is a 5090. I think if people do get a chance to buy it might not be necessarily their first choice or maybe even second choice. You get one in and when the one you want does come in then you can rma it or sell it. I am pretty sure you will not lose any money on doing that.

Wait that **** pays if your electronics break? That's news to me lol
Oh yes. Scratched a monitor the other year claimed for that accidental damage is a godsend

They asked for a photo paid out and let me keep the monitor so i brought new monitor and sold the other for 150

I think I’ll be holding off for a while. I was underwhelmed with the reviews of the 5090 anyway - but just did my and my wife’s tax returns today.

I did my return first, and I’m due a small rebate of just under £3K, and I thought to myself, that’ll do nicely and pay for a 5090.

Then did my wife’s tax return - and she has a liability of just over £16K! Doh! I think that nice shiny graphics card is going to have to wait - not a massive hardship, having to run an ‘old’ 4090 for a while yet. The FOMO is subsiding a little…

Work has decided definitively for me. Was getting sent to Saudi for a couple of days, a late departure, so had enough time to have a go at getting a 5090 before I set off....

Now off to Tokyo instead, first thing in the morning, so I'll be somewhere close to the Chinese border at 2pm, and don't think the wifi on the aircraft will be fit for purpose - I've also had issues using a credit card over the onboard wifi before, so it's a hard pass for me - for now...

...just as well - I want to see how it performs in VR before committing, and may need to do a spot of overtime to pay for it.

@Dannyr90 @Tykey guys u misunderstood will cost me at most a grand. Due my 3090 having a bath (dam hardline fitting failed) and Evga no longer doing rma’s I had to go through Insurance. But while this happened just before christmas I got a 4080 to tied me over.

Then last week insurance contacted me I now have a £1800 voucher plus the 1k I have in hand
£1,800 for a 3090 alone or for the whole system?

*gently loosens fittings on CPU....*

One shop has announced the price they are selling the 5080 for - not great news as I was hoping to get one near the £1000 mark.
In line with worldwide market availability, consumers will be able to purchase limited stock of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 online from the Store on 30th January on a first-come-first-serve basis, from £1,245.99. Further stock of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 will become available over time, meanwhile the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 will also be available online via the Store in the coming weeks.

Was hoping to be able to see prices by now. Pretty sure I'm not going to get one at launch. I'll try but there's so many of us going after what feels like might be 10 cards on stock.

An Asus Strix just sold on MM for £1250.00

Selling a 4090 Strix that cheap is a terrible deal seller wise given what we've been told about 5000 series stock levels and prices.

Especially if the intention is the expectation that they will be able to buy a 5090 to replace it at anything less that an eye-watering price any time soon (unless their very lucky with an FE)
