NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Yep, which is why it's nefarious taking the full money for the GPU when preordeing, they should take a deposit instead like some other industries do

lol, ‘nefarious’… that’s a bit strong?

If you think it’s onerous, dubious, dastardly or ‘nefarious’, you can resolve the problem for yourself by not pre-ordering.

I mean it may be a bit strong, but I don't think it's a good look either. If they can't promise prices, and the dates are going that late they should be taking deposits not full payments.

Couldn't agree more. 10% to secure an option to buy seems fair. Not like they need to worry about being stuck with stock they can't move

Jaytwocents has a 5090 Astral LC. But he didn't test temps on the thing or do a review; all he did was use it to get on the 3d mark leaderboard

I did briefly see a temp on his screen during one run and it looked like it was low 40s which is impressive for 600watts

I've just seen a screenshot elsewhere of somebody getting in the pre order queue for the aorus master ice 5090 and being told their estimated delivery date being the 3rd of october lmfao. Why on earth are they taking pre-orders on cards when the delivery date is so far away?

The lack of any msi news from the other site is extreamly annoying. How can you possibly have no clue when your getting your next stock in from them :( hopefully we get some news next week

MSI aren't a "trusted supplier" of theirs, which I interpret to mean they have no idea what's coming and when  Whereas the other vendors are probably giving them exact numbers and dates.

Though have some hope - we've seen a lot of MSI 5080's and 5090's reach the UK since launch, compared with the other vendors at least.

The dates aren't real, the AIB have not given any dates to oc uk for delivery, oc uk just does its own estimates you have to ask them how and why

Chances are these cards will be delivered well before the date oc uk is showing

This is with the competitor tbf, but it just blows my mind, surely they'll have had to recieved some shipments info to reopen the queue?

I think this is where OCUK have actually been a bit more sensible, and rather than take huge numbers of orders they can't fulfill for months, they've kept the numbers small. I understand some pre-order queues are under 10 units on OCUK.

Msi seem to be one of the only cards coming through at the moment... seen plenty 5080 and even a few 5090 .

That seemed to be the case if the "x ordered today" values they showed on the product pages were true on launch. I think the highest I saw was like 24 or 25 for the Astral? No clue why everyone loves that card so much but guess it's not for me to decide!

It does look the best card IMO, though that's where it ends. It's loud and temps aren't the best either.

Looks > everything else for many!

Found out why the 5090’s are in low supply:

Interestingly the other site has opened up pre-orders again.

Either they’re confident the stock will start coming in after the new year or they’re desperate for more free interest. Could also be both.

Semantics really, mainly it's just a scummy cash grab yet they don't receive nearly as much flack for it as scalping (which imo it's at a similar level)
