NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

..and if you decide to cancel you can't buy another card in that range from them
Yeah I got told that, I still said no thanks.

It’s sketchy because they can’t possibly know how many cards they are getting and when.
They are selling a place in the queue for something they may never have.

If it comes to a point that they have them in stock to buy, then other outlets will also so not being allowed to buy from them only hurts them tbh.

"Never have" is a bit melodramatic. The cards will come through in the end, we just don't know when. Even the 3080, which was probably the tightest launch stock situation until the 5090, became widely available after a while.

Ok, I’ll sell you a car, nice one, for a grand, I’m not going to tell you when it is going to be delivered, sometime soon ok, however when it is in stock I may charge you more for it.
Anyway they must have an awful lot of preorders, when I cancelled last week I was something like 350 in the queue.
They could have over 1000 preorders, mental.

well ive just sent ocuk an email, im puzzled to why they are not sending their customers weekly que status emails like they did with the 30 series

The new Hardware Unboxed podcast was interesting talking about the stock woes of the card. Steve mentioned in Australia retailers are having to buy weird bundles to get 5090 stock, like buying 5 intel cpu/motherboards for one 5090. The launch has just been insane on so many levels.

Update: My pre-order queue for the el cheapo ZOTAC 5090 SOLID went down from 412 to 391 (with another supplier that shall not be named). The pre-order price at the time I placed it was £2099
It seems like they took far too many pre-orders. I'm 111th for that GPU, I was 119th on launch day.

hehehe each order is money, imagine hundreds and hundreds for each model, so much money.

Also some retailers have reopened the preorders which mean they must have received secret intel of incoming stock, otherwise why would preorders reopen...

I am still 60 and have been for a while.
Good news that 20 people have pulled out.

I am hoping to potentially get mine this month - If my price changes will let you know.

I seen the other site open pre-orders back up at 6pm yesterday and I was thinking about it for a few mins, but I just could not do it.

If the pre-order system worked like console pre-ordering back in the Xbox OG/PS2 days you place a 10% deposit and they can take the rest when in stock I would pre-order in a heartbeat but paying full now not even knowing an ETA just up to 20 odd weeks, no thanks.

Holding hope for the FE model and if NVidia may send invites like they did on the 40 series to stop bots, that’s another odd one, why didn’t NVidia do that in the beginning to stop all the scalpers of the FE cards.

This as to be the most underwhelming launch of all time.
