Would you have classed a 2060 as 3rd tier since that was closer in performance to its generations flagship than the 5070ti is to a 5090?I class 5070/5070ti/5070 super as 3rd tier.

12GB is a total joke on an expensive card, within a couple of years if not sooner be running out of VRAMSo the average price of the 5070ti was £900, so that will make the average for the 5070 about £700 for 12gb lmao
The 5070 is probably going to be £650 for 4070S performance +/-5%So the average price of the 5070ti was £900, so that will make the average for the 5070 about £700 for 12gb lmao
Thats assuming if the 9070XT is great and then that retailers wont try and push up prices and scalp it so they don't get left holding the overpriced Nvidia bag.
Not sure why people would be hyped when these cards deliver the same performance for the same price or more than whats been available this past year?Crazy prices.
Hopefully the hype will die down fairly quickly, now they're no longer being snapped up by miners.
What's been available? Nvidia has expertly managed stock to ensure prices stay high. Not sure why people would be hyped when these cards deliver the same performance for the same price or more than whats been available this past year?
Not just NVidia... anything 'similar' is either not available or hiked prices. For anyone with an older card, looking to get into the newer models, there's not a lot at a decent price. What's been available? Nvidia has expertly managed stock to ensure prices stay high.
Crazy prices.

4080s have been available for around £800-900 for a large part of last year and 4070ti super have dipped as low as £630, actually £550 with rebait. What's been available? Nvidia has expertly managed stock to ensure prices stay high.
I think you've just gotta wait to see if you get a shipping noticeI managed to place an order at 14:18 but it says "order confirmed". Does that mean I made it or just preordered?

If it was one of MSI in stock cards, then yes you would have got one.
All other brands are pre-order, which means no stock.
The more people are willing to 'OverPay' the more the prices increase for future generations. The market will be the ultimate arbiter, but like the chap above who said they were willing to pay MSRP for a 5090, I was at first also willing to pay up to £2500 for a WB version.
Since I missed out and cooled down I decided £2k was my limit. As time ticked on, I am now just not going to buy at all and am thinking much more rationally.
I like best in class, am willing to overpay, but now I feel it’s just been a massive contemptuous exercise bringing the worst out.
At some point, that sentiment does result in market changes and that’s why I reckon there’ll be an oversaturated supply in response - to try and restore that sentiment, but in doing so will mean prices fall and loads of early adopter sentiment will get harmed instead.
Hard to come out of this one looking good I’d say.
