NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

so FOMO kicked in then when u realised your coughing up nearly three grand for a GPU it sinks in, I think a lot of people feel that, not the scalpers coz they will add £200 and bang it on the bay
I will go for it if around 2100 but not 2600.

I already in the queue for 5090 astral and currently using 7900xtx so not fear of losing out at all.

Another model palit gamerock just dropped here at £2700:cry:

Edit: total 4 models instock right now

With you there. No way in holy heckfire I'm paying £2600 for what is a baseline model.

You can rest easy indeed for a while with that 7900xtx.

They're not actually in stock, just showing you can add them to cart.

I'm going to cancel too after seeing this. Plus, I seem to be going backwards in queue so not sure how that works?
They are putting prebuilds first. I can tell, as they recently sold a newly opened TUF 5080 on eBay that had paint scratches… obviously no good for their prebuild customer.

urrgh, I'm in the queue for that card :(
While it is indeed very sloppy for them to miss this i assume later units will be all good and if not will be easy enough to check with GPU-Z and RMA the card to the retailer for a quick replacement. If you are near the front of the queue I would just keep the place and deal with any issues when it arrives :)

Yeah good points there - I can't disagree.

I wasn't looking for a GPU a few months ago that's the problem :D

If I want to game at 4k properly what are my choices then? Budget £800. Current card 3070. What is my play?
. I have a 3070ti and game at 4k...in the same boat. hoping the 9070xt is good and will jump ship to AMD for the first time in my life....otherwise I don't know...I know value is price/performance is ***p, but I'm loosing the will and may go the same way at some point..just need to tattoo mug on my forehead. PC Master Race .... that needs to be renamed to PC Money Racket. Nvidia being the Kingpin.
In the meantime I'm playing more on console again..amazing how i can play life of PI on 4k tv no problem on xsx, whereas my b650e-e/7800x3d and 3070ti etc is a stuttering mess. got 2 boys and we all have a xsx now...easy to play together and the 3 consoles cost less than the pc
some games are fine though..don't have a problem with Avatar or Hogwarts, and been playing Grounded which was fun..runs easily on the pc..just played subnautica, original and below zero...bought cyberpunk recently though and haven't even bothered playing..want to see it in all it's glory, just to see what the fuss is all about..
still, don't think it's too much to ask toi want to play 4k gaming in 2025 without having to drop £800 upwards on a gpu...not exactly as if 4k is new...bit of a joke ...these prices continue it will kill gaming

and dlss is very much my friend, otherwise wouldn't be able to play anything

What are you intending to do with this?

You can use software to set case fans to GPU temps (notably, using ‘Fan Control’, which is really good).

I currently use the MSI control centre with custom fan curves for case fans.

However, there is no option to adjust based on GPU temp, just CPU.

Ah, Fan Control is your saviour!

You can even set curves based on combining seperate CPU and GPU curves (so it sets the RPM based on whichever temp is higher).

So with my case fans, they scale up with my CPU and GPU temps, whichever is hotter (only a mild increase in RPM for cpu temps, bigger increase for GPU temps).

It is the future! Watch this vid and it will explain it:

Edit: also - you can control GPU fans… and control how long it takes temps. to make a difference, to stop ‘micro ramping’ etc. Soooo good!!

yes Gigabyte is based in Milton Keynes and I can get there in 30 mins, they allow you to drop off the card but weekdays only business hours, so i just delivered it via special,

The £15.00 is to pay for the return delivery, so it cost me the £12.50 to post it and £15.00 in cash to pay for the return delivery, if you didnt pay £15.00 then you must have collected the replacement?

If the offer a 4080 would that be ok for a 3090? in terms of equivalence
I had a gigabyte eagle 3090 which i gave too my brother when i upgraded to a 4090.. after he had it for a few months it died and had to return it. I was offered a 4080 in replacement for it which i accepted as it was an upgrade (they didnt have any 3090's to replace it with) but this was about a month after the 4080 release, so in your case they may not even have any 4080's left to give you.
Got to remember that if you RMA your card it is worth the same amount as what you originally paid for it (as long as you have proof of purchase) so you can probably get a 5080.

For those awaiting Zotac 5090 this is a interesting read , some are not even a full fat 5090

That's not what you want to see when you're waiting for it. Sigh.

Crazy news about the Zotac 5090s. Starting to think I've dodged a bullet by not being 'lucky enough' to bag a 5090.

What's the next bombshell to drop we reckon?

Did Nvidia accidentally ship 5080Ti chips to Zotac?
