Consoles definitely have their place. Sounds like you got a good setup going on with your sons! Very cool. I have a 3070ti and game at 4k...in the same boat. hoping the 9070xt is good and will jump ship to AMD for the first time in my life....otherwise I don't know...I know value is price/performance is ***p, but I'm loosing the will and may go the same way at some point..just need to tattoo mug on my forehead. PC Master Race .... that needs to be renamed to PC Money Racket. Nvidia being the Kingpin.
In the meantime I'm playing more on console again..amazing how i can play life of PI on 4k tv no problem on xsx, whereas my b650e-e/7800x3d and 3070ti etc is a stuttering mess. got 2 boys and we all have a xsx now...easy to play together and the 3 consoles cost less than the pc
some games are fine though..don't have a problem with Avatar or Hogwarts, and been playing Grounded which was fun..runs easily on the pc..just played subnautica, original and below zero...bought cyberpunk recently though and haven't even bothered playing..want to see it in all it's glory, just to see what the fuss is all about..
still, don't think it's too much to ask toi want to play 4k gaming in 2025 without having to drop £800 upwards on a gpu...not exactly as if 4k is new...bit of a joke ...these prices continue it will kill gaming
and dlss is very much my friend, otherwise wouldn't be able to play anything
Any chance they might be shipping later because Zotac's had a massive "oh ****" moment about this issue?
Crazy news about the Zotac 5090s. Starting to think I've dodged a bullet by not being 'lucky enough' to bag a 5090.
What's the next bombshell to drop we reckon?
Ah, Fan Control is your saviour!
You can even set curves based on combining seperate CPU and GPU curves (so it sets the RPM based on whichever temp is higher).
So with my case fans, they scale up with my CPU and GPU temps, whichever is hotter (only a mild increase in RPM for cpu temps, bigger increase for GPU temps).
It is the future! Watch this vid and it will explain it:
Edit: also - you can control GPU fans… and control how long it takes temps. to make a difference, to stop ‘micro ramping’ etc. Soooo good!!
I don't think they post here anymore mate.Gibbo?? Care to explain??
Oh he is here mate , posted up yesterday and deleted a few competitor postI don't think they post here anymore mate.

well Zotacs have an average waitn time of 4 weeks whilst Asus has a waitin time on 12 weeks, and generally when GPU's are in stock Zotax cards are always in stock + the 5 year warrantyI was, but canceled after seeing virtually no movement, losing interest, and learning Zotacs will ship later than others.
well someone told me they had a gigabyte 3090 that went bad after 2 years or so, Gigabyte offered a cash refund minus 50% for depreciation, they offered a grand in cash for his busted 3090, I suppose they didnt have any spare cards at the time, but in this situation I would prefer a card let it be a working 3090 or a 4080, I doubt they will provide a 5080 as that aint in stock.I had a gigabyte eagle 3090 which i gave too my brother when i upgraded to a 4090.. after he had it for a few months it died and had to return it. I was offered a 4080 in replacement for it which i accepted as it was an upgrade (they didnt have any 3090's to replace it with) but this was about a month after the 4080 release, so in your case they may not even have any 4080's left to give you.
Got to remember that if you RMA your card it is worth the same amount as what you originally paid for it (as long as you have proof of purchase) so you can probably get a 5080.
where did u see this info, I know a lot of ppl in ques for amp extremesEven before the issue was reported Zotac stated their cards would be shipping mid Feb.
There wasn't any info for Europe. They're probably referring to the Zotac Korea news that came out before launch.where did u see this info, I know a lot of ppl in ques for amp extremes
Very well documented on various sites.where did u see this info, I know a lot of ppl in ques for amp extremes
unfortunately not a cheap hobby when you have to kids that are gamers....the boys now want pc's..so my am4 system is now my eldests with my 3080fe, which he switchitched with the 3070ti i got him(though my wife seems to have knicked that pc now)...so i might be going down a 3 gpu purchase...this could be a very expensive year..did get my youngest a 7800xt from MM for decent price..just bit worried about it's grunt for 4k gaming..eldest saved up and has a 42"lg c2 as monitor/tv..think my youngest might do the same as is a super saver so can afford it (boys now a level and gcse's year so not that young anymore)..thinking of putting the 7800xt in the am4 system which my wife uses and lobbing out the 3080 and 3070ti...need 3 gpu's though...as say, expensive year ahead...all depends on their exam results...need some incentive for them thoughConsoles definitely have their place. Sounds like you got a good setup going on with your sons! Very cool
I agree, £800 is a lot. But unless I quit gaming at 4k and lower my expectations then there's not much I can do!
But as I said before, PC gaming is quite a cheap hobby all things considered. Especially if you use it for many hours. Plus hey life it too short, might aswell have some fun!
