NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Yeah the 80's are coming in great. The 90's however have been a train wreck since launch. I think all sellers need some assurance from aib's about actual delivery times because its unfair on customers to pay with nothing to show for it and its unfair for sellers to put up with us complaining. But when we have 2 and a half grand spent with nothing to show were gonna get annoyed

Just ordered the Palit 5070ti for £830, I was going get AMD 9070xT for £700-730 but I thought paying the extra for better and more supported VR worth it.

Eh, £100 more for a 5070ti over a 9070 xt is flirting with the edge of reasonable. 5% better raster, 13% better RT. Still overpriced all around though. I do expect, however, that 5070 ti was a low-end model while the 9070xt was higher end?

I've yet to see a good VR-focused review for the 9070s.

Atleast stock is hanging around, step in the right direction.

I wonder if all the news around impending recession and layoffs is having an effect on discretionary video game toy purchases, tamping down demand.

I will say, I've gone with a 9070xt at present and already used the remainder for other diy gym toys, but would still be tempted if I saw and actual, honest-to-goodness, non reseller-jacked near-RRP card.

Yeah it’s about VR for me so getting a 5070ti over 9070XT is the safer bet, especially for DCS world.

There will be some truth in that, a couple of months when the stock market was buoyant I'd have probably dropped 2k on a 5090FE. Now everything is looking ropey a 9070XT seemed a much more sensible option.

13% better RT in light RT games which have never really been a problem for AMD
Load up heavy RT or PT and the 9070XT drops like a stone in comparison

I doubt it helps, but I think the big issue is that scarcity isn't always a good thing for hype. It can work if you've still got enough people getting the cards to create strong word of mouth, but when it's drips and drabs like this 5090 has been I don't think you really get that. Doesn't help you've had other negatives drowning it out, like removed physx, drivers being busted, melted connectors, price craziness and so on. The other 50 series cards haven't exactly set the world on fire either with their performance levels compared to the 40 series, so you can't really rely on those to carry the 50 series torch either.

With no hype as time goes on people just realise they don't need it, to be honest.
