NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

In fairness, they are basically offering the chance of a better queue position, and a shorter queue, for a premium.

Some of the competitor preorders were open for hours. I wouldn’t like to be at the back of that queue…!
To be fair the competitors did say upto 4 months for delivery in some cases, and those pre-orders have now been closed, so we can only assume so many pre-orders were received they did not want to take the risk they could not fulfill anymore

Reading all these comments about tracking link and queue position... I can only hope I'm in low numbers in the invisible queue on OCUK having ordered the Zotac 5090 Solid at 16:53:51.

I'm going to keep an eye out for a 5090 FE while waiting, but don't expect to get lucky there really.

That hour and a half of the order having not actually processed stung me hard. Queue position 252 for the Zotac 5090 with an eta of June. My order didn’t get processed until I reordered it at 16:36 after initially thinking I was through at 15:02.

I went through that with the 3080, months of missing out by seconds... never again.
It feels like the 3080 launch changed the way many of us think about this stuff. I too spent too much time lurking on discord servers and in chat groups, constantly missing out, or having orders accepted and then cancelled to be bothered doing that again. I paid over the odds this time around (1130 for a 5080 MSRP card), but the time saved on cocking about and all that heartache is worth the extra money to me. But I can't help but feel that this makes me a part of the problem.

I don’t care that I’m waiting months for my card as long as I’m not playing the 3080 bit alert game again and still waiting months for a card anyway.
