NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I ordered one elsewhere - email confirmation at 16.03, but my bank says the money was taken at 15.21.
I picked the Asus 5090 TUF OC - purely because it had the shortest delivery date. It said 7th Feb I think, and most of the others were 2-12 weeks. I originally wanted one of the <£2000 cards, but as desperation set in, I went with the more expensive one! It also sucks that they charge delivery on something of this cost - but hey ho.

Last night, mine was indicating despatch today... but now I'm no 13 in the queue, with "awaiting despatch date".
I'm still looking around to see if I can get a cheaper one on a decent lead time - but I think that's highly unlikely.
Shipping charge isn't an issue if you pay that much for a card. The estimated delivery date is likely to change and likely longer wait then expected.

am i being blind or something? Im no 48 in queue, but cant for the life of me see my ETA? Yesterday was saying 31-7thfeb, but i didnt think that was right lol. Thats now gone and nothing has come in its place.
I ordered the Astral at 5pm and currently 200+ on the queue, when I placed the order the page was showing 2 to 12 weeks. However, I checked few time after I received confirmation and never see the ETA on order tracking.

Anyway, it maybe better as I can wait and maybe change my mind cancel the order after seeing more reviews in the coming weeks.

Must say the addition of this queue system is excellent and OCUK should try to build something similar

Agree, seems very professional and well thought out in advance. They were ready and will reap the rewards, must be hundreds of thousands of pre-orders (in value) placed, hopefully this will get them stock allocation priority.

which card? I don't have an eta on mine which means they are waiting for info from their supplier. Apparently there will be an update on their site at 1pm today.
msi suprim 5090, i assume its due to msi not sending any out until the 6th? So the suppliers have no idea yet, thats what im hoping atleast. Either way, being in the queue, is better than not imo

yeah same, I'm 33 in queue for suprim liquid so I guess we won't hear much until next week thursday.

Im just glad were both fairly low down in the queue, and hopefully get one soon. I dont mind waiting, this is my first ever launch and just happy to get one on order. only 20 mins til we hear from the supplier, but not expecting much til the 6th. Im hoping its here before march as got another 12 days off for my birthday lol

MSI really smashed it this generation. Fantastic cards across the range, I think they'll outsell the other vendors easily.
Ive always liked MSI (pref EVGA, RIP), this generation i think they are the best cards. Cooling is great, not very much coil whine (apparently), build quality is good. Plus no asus tax. Definitely agree with you and think they will outsell other vendors.

The way I see it, is that you might get lucky and get some of the earlier produced cards that are being done like shipped right now from factories, but considering it's Chinese new year, there will basically be 0 production until around end of Feb, with full production commencing in March. Which means, you either get lucky, or you're gonna be waiting until Apr/May time to get a GPU if you preorder right now.

Whilst I didn't draw the line at the prices being asked for the 5090, I do draw the line at companies taking my money and sitting on it for months in the hopes of getting a card at some point in the future.

Guess I'll either be incredibly lucky with a stock drop or my 4090 will be seeing me through this series.

Roll on the 6000's :cry::rolleyes:

Just found out I'm 10th in the line for my 5080, not bad considering I didn't actually get to place the order until late evening
I also get free delivery

there must be some already in shipping / getting shipped before the shutdown because some of the ETA's for cards coming in are end of Feb / March - it takes about 6 weeks to get shipments from China/Taiwan to UK give or take so that would mean its already enroute to get here end of Feb, and must be leaving pretty soon even to make March.

169 in the other place's queue for the cheap Zotac 5090, which is making me curious about how many cards will get shipped at a time. Do these things tend to arrive with just a handful at a time or en masse? A big difference if the deliveries are more like 10 to 20 (or less), versus bigger chunks of 50 to 100.

Main concern is that the non-OC MSRP(ish) models don't get made in big numbers at all, so the queue never gets as far as my number. I remember with 4090s the non OC models vanished really quickly and never really returned.

I have no problem waiting though as I have a perfectly usable TUF OC 4090. The coil whine is what's driving my upgrade more than performance! If I get the 5090 quickly enough then hopefully the 4090 will have held it's value too.

Didn't get my order on OcUk in until 17:20 and it was a pre-order. Just got my dispatch email which was a massive surprise. I did get my pre-order on pretty much the instant the pre-orders went live on my specific choice.

Went with MSI 5080 gaming trio white. I'll be glad for this just to be all over. Ordering this stuff is too stressful

I had Tuf 7900XTX and the coil while was atroicious. I got it returned for a refund and went with a Palit 4090 which has ZERO coil whine. At the time, I remember people saying the Asus cards were terrible for coil whine at the time.

12 weeks is what we call the "Never" in my trade all our major suppliers have 3 months lead-time as they we do not know when it will turn up timescale and then float it
