NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

If the price is too high, then buy elsewhere.
What exactly is the point of whining like children on a forum?, doesn’t achieve much.
Your money your choice.

If idiots are willing to spend £3000 on a GPU why not sell it for £3000? Fair play.

Not forcing people to buy 5090 @ £3000. Me I'll stick to nothing rather than pay those prices.

I agree, we the consumers are the idiots here and to blame for this tbh. We can dictate the price by voting with our wallets. Just like apple consumers did with apple and their Vision pro, it flopped because the apple zombies put their foot down at one point and did not buy it. Nvidia will keep pushing the price until the market no longer accepts.

OCUK took a right slating on reddit. Even saw one post which said the forum users have Stockholm Syndrome to the company
That’s an accurate statement. I’ve seen evidence of that on here.

Look at how much other places are charging for the 9800x3d though, other places do exactly the same.

I think people’s issue with the GPU price hiking is more to do with how overly expensive they already are, then you have places taking the p… on top.

Didn’t manage to get an FE yesterday, I didn’t even see it in stock once unfortunately. I’ll give it a bit more time before looking at AIBs

If anyone paid over the odds and are complaining, this is just a reminder that there’s huge choice online of excellent reputable businesses outside of that one place you stick by… Believe it or not :p

Been that way for a while with a majority of their products to be fair, but I think the 5XXX series takes the cake.
This time they are not even trying to excuse it. Perhaps because there is no excuse for adding £200 to a MSRP model. But clearly people will pay.

probably happen in a decade when we get to around the £4000-£5000 mark for a x090 GPU.

This is definately true. As you can see from my post count i dont post often, but im a long time viewer / reader of the forum. I am based in stoke and have known and visited ocuk since its near inception and well before it was taken over. There is a loyalty to ocuk on here that doesnt make sense, just like any loyalty to any company really. They are all here to take your money, end of. If you find the product cheaper elsewhere, then get it there. Im after a 5090FE so unfortunately cant get it from ocuk, but if i was after an AIB card and saw ocuk pricing a lot higher than a competitor and i could get one from said competitor then i would go there.

When i see people defending ocuk to the hills, just because they are ocuk is mind blowing. They provide a great forum overall, sometimes they price their products well, but lately that doesnt seem the case. I always remember, back in the day, looking forward to visiting the store to get some new product, or build a new rig and thinking they were very well priced. Sadly those days are over, but thats what happens when the little boys get taken over by big corpo.

Can AIB manufacturers aside from MSI and ASUS please sample their cards to reviewers. Keen to see how some of the Zotac and Gigabyte cards perform. No stock to give to reviewers I guess. Dark times.
Wife was around when I watched that, had to quickly pause it as he started to reveal the 'price'...‍♂️.
All the performance of all of the cards will be in within a few % of one another (Likely <2-3%). The only thing you are getting different between them is aesthetics, temps and noise.
100%

Exactly this. I love the forums, love many of the people even though I don't post as often as others. But I will never blindly buy from here just because it's OCUK.
I will never get that mentality for any shop/brand.

I know, but it's nice to see how they stack up and differ. It doesn't always carry across from one gen to the next that the same specific model is still a good card, e.g., 4090 TUF to 5090 TUF is a good card.
...hopefully, I've a pre order of the TUF 5090, already ordered a WB. Had a 4070ti TUF and no issues, now have a 4090 ROG LC. More for a quiet system and asthetics than performance as a play single player titles without headphones.

palit gamerock was reviewed, one of the cheapest and seems solid. above the FE in FPS by a little, cooler (nowhere near as cool as other AIBs, but it's cheaper) and quieter.
Ugly as a ginger, and absolutely massive. One massive downside is 2 year warranty which is lowest of the low.

I like it though. it's why I preordered one over the Zotac.
