NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Genuinely think this has to be by far the worst.
I don't even understand how it's even financially positive for Nvida. I have a large amount of money I am TRYING TO GIVE YOU but I'm not because, well, firstly you can't even supply a GPU even if I wanted one. And secondly, the only products I would want are a fire risk because you decided to save 10 pence worth of shunt resistors. The bar is *so* low and they still can't get over it.

It feels like the worst. I don't recall so many YouTubers talking about the issue. I guess it's a trending topic for the time being but it's good they're increasing pressure on NVIDIA and AIBS but to what effect? I wonder it the 6000 series will be just as bad! I'm guessing AMD aren't even taking note and will balls up their 9000 series launch either via pricing or stock availability

You say 10 pence worth of shunt resistors... Remember that is per card, probably approaching £30 by now with the number of cards sold :P

Interesting official numbers from AMD state much faster than 7900 GRE, so a bit *above* 7900 XTX and possibly beating 5070 ti. Looking across the games, it's about 32% faster on average in games without RT (pure raster), 51% faster in games with RT.

If priced well and in decent supply should alleviate stock issues for 5070ti.

AMD will fumble it.

Supply probably won't be as much as people want it to be, and pricing will be just below Nvidia's cards, but not enough to gain market share. This is the AMD playbook generation after generation. Add in the mix FSR4 staying behind DLSS4 in terms of picture quality and being in 3 games at launch.

Yes, I am a pessimistic sod :D

Oh man that's so cool. What thermal camera is this? something I can sorta buy relatively cheap? or is this one of those professional ones that cost an arm and a leg? I just have one of those cheap ones where you point at it and the lcd tells you the temp.

It's this: https://www.topdon.com/products/TC001

They are not cheap-cheap but are cheap compared to higher end models that do more stuff at higher res etc.

after all this you will still give them your money regardless. now if there was an alternative then ppl would have gone else where, but the customers have nowhere to go.

Got my TUF 5090 from here, and I did get haribos lol. Thankfully it's the full ROP version so lucky there.

Good performance and really good cooling. There's a bit of coil whine but I can't hear it unless I put my ear to the case and if the card is maxed out so pretty good there.
