NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Fire strike score on my 5070Ti Asus Prime if anyone was interested

I have no idea if they are decent scores or not to be honest, i swear we used to have a benchmark thread somewhere here.

You should do TimeSpy/TimeSpy Extreme or Steel Nomad, since they are more recent and popular and easier to compare.

WOW WOW wow.....

BIOS UPGRADE, DDU, Downgrade drivers..... Still nothing.

OMG It's the ******* 12V connector

As the 12VHPWR that is supposedly supported by my PSU isn't really a 12V-2x6 .... The connector needs to be aligned PERFECTLY

I've only just managed to complete time spy and Extreme because of this

Another warning to always use the ugly adapter that is supplied with the GPU and not your own

I made up the design for the 12VHPWR cable issue, not a perfect solution but I am confident it will prevent damage to anything.

Basically, I will connect a thermocouple to this very clever device from Aquacomputer that I use to measure coolant flow (and a few other things) in my water cooled rig. Then I will fasten the thermocouple to the plug of the cable at the GPU side with some black rubber bands.

Right now the sensor is only measuring air temperature in my room but it's supposed to be a contact thermocouple. I just hooked it up to test it and it works, the Aquacomputer high flow NEXT makes a loud noise and red LED illluminates on top of it when it alarms out. It even displays what the alarm is about.

My 5090 is still on the way, but I will report back with real test.

Haha pc gaming is so dead if this is what's required

So I googled "rtx 5090 melting people still buying them why" and the automated ai overview was this ;
"Despite reports of the RTX 5090 power connectors melting, people are still buying them because of its high performance capabilities, limited availability due to high demand, and the belief that the issue can be mitigated by using the correct power cables and ensuring proper connection, while also relying on Nvidia's warranty policy to replace affected units if the problem occurs."

And there are still people waiting on alerts to get a 5090. I just can't wrap my head around it :D

That is concerning, the 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6 cables have identical spec. The only difference is with the connector on the GPU. So something is off with that cable.

Identical spec YES but not identical connector .... No matter how hard one tries the 12VHPWR connector has longer pins so will never connect fully flush in a 12V-2x6 socket
Well that's what she says and size apparently does matter

What's score should I be seeing with a Gainward 5080 Phoenix on timespy extreme?

So far I have I've got 13256, graphics score 15326.

Depends on your CPU, have you got a link to your score and have you compared it to your cohort, ie searching for results with your exact CPU and GPU spec, you need to be logged in for this I believe
