Nvidia should do a buyback scheme for 2080ti owners

you 100% correct, you gotta try right,

and everyone has a moan about something here and there
My suggestion to you this time is, either keep and enjoy what you got until the 4000 series or sell or give the 2080Ti to a family member and get a 3080. That will be plenty faster than the 2080Ti and you will have the latest tech. At £650 even if it depreciated 100% you will still have made less of a loss than you did by going 2080Ti :p

Now if you are the type that must have the best, 3090 wont be it, wait a little and a Titan will arrive. 3090 is hardly much faster than the 3080 anyway.

I fully expect you will ignore my advice for a third time and go buy one or two 3090’s. See you here again in a few years time :D

:D Love this reply, i see so many posts on asking for advice then go completely the opposite direction.

What? No.

If you have the money to blow on a £1000 gpu in the first place, you shouldn't have to worry about the money you have lost when the next gen comes around. if you do, and that money lost means a lot to you, you likely shouldn't have spent that amount on a gpu in the first place.

I imagine most people that bought a 2080ti had the money and just wanted the best you can buy and likely couldn't give a **** what its resale value is.

Might not be exactly the same, but it reminds me of the line from the matrix where the oracle says to neo something like, you have already made the decision, you now here to understand it. Lol.

That is what those people are doing. They already made the decision before posting, they just make the posts hoping someone will agree with them to make the silly decision more bearable. All they need is a YOLO member to rubber stamp it for them :D

That’s why I don’t bother with those threads anymore, waste of time.

You won't get any cool points by begging Nvidia for money. Be rational - winter is coming, all those watts 2080TI will churn out are gonna keep your house well toasty.
yes, the 3090 in sli will be amazing, no central heating required

When can we pre-order the 3090, anyone know?

HAHA! Totally get what you mean, they're just after confirmation/justification from someone so they can feel better about it... like Nike says... " Just do it " :D

Yea. It took minutes for my prediction to come true also, he is looking to buy 3090 SLI.

No sympathy for anyone who bought one of these things.

Hugely overpriced from the outset. People paying £1200 for a video card are just helping drive up prices.

More money than sense springs to mind.

You would be insane to ever pay that much for a GPU anyway to play 99.9% console ports with little to no visual difference on PC except a slightly clearer picture & better AA!

If you cannot manage your finances & hobby purchases properly & or have too much money to spend its not Nvidia's fault is it! (although yes I agree they are way over priced but that is more down to AMD not having something to compete with still so Nvidia price hike & get away with it!).

They should send out shiny medals to 2080ti owners with a 2080ti Funders edition logo on it for helping fund research of the 3000 series.

I have a 2070 super so I get the annoyance at new cards being better but I'm still happy with mine, still plays my games great, will be looking at the 4000 series for an even bigger upgrade down the line.

agreed, all my purchase decisions ae made with an assumption I'll bin the part / give it away, I never consider resale , which can only be a bonus

Things like this need to happen more often, as it's only cold hard lessons that actually teach people financial sense. Of course there are some that bought 2080ti on release, had 2 years of best in class performance, and have the disposable income and or savings to afford such a card. I'm sure they regret nothing.

Then there are those who bought one in the last few months, on a finance deal with a high interest %, and how have negative equity. These are the people that need lessons like this, however hard it may be.

Here is how he see’s it lol:

dont tell anyone your getting a 3090, honestly your gonna get shot for it

Most forum members dislike people buying top end cards at ridiculous prices because they think we buy them for bragging rights and that when we buy them that apparently we are encouraging Nvidia to keep on charging high prices.

Be shoosh about it and pretend that u will wait a year or 2 or that u still run a 1060, then ppl will give u kudos

Thing is, you are the one coming here upset and complaining each time you buy top end and feel screwed over. Hence you get appropriate replies. If money/feeling cheated was not an issue, you would not be making these threads every time new gen of cards come out now would you? ;)

I am looking forward to your next thread in a few years time already. Hell, it might not even take that long if Nvidia do a mid gen refresh :D
