It's you that has sheer ignorance. PS4 Pro has managed it with even weaker hardware. It uses checkerboard rendering mostly but the Scorpio has much more powerful hardware so that's a testament to what to expect from the scorpio. People including my self was very surprised to see the PS4 pro even managing that sort of rendering.

Where's all the 4k 60 games on the pro? I did ask that once already but nobody answered. Last time I checked Dgitial Foundry did a detailed review and came out with a list of 10 actual native 4k60 games, the rest of them ddynamically scaling of course, annd none of those ten where what any of us would class as taxing graphically.

So considering we are deffo having a GTX1080TI thrashing Volta card within six months and a Vega will be barely faster than a GTX1070,I think we can safely all avoid the GTX1080TI/Titan X/Vega cards for six months and skip ahead for DA MONSTER(the card formally known as gaming Volta).

Lots were going by the comments and its logical going onto a new node,etc they would try and maximise their return. Unless AMD Vega is very competitive with Pascal upto the GTX1080TI,there is little reason for them to replacing whole lines in a few months.

No, Nvidia will release Volta gaming cards whenever they are ready to do so regardless of AMD. What better way to get more money from current Pascal owners than to start selling a faster Volta series. . Sititng there not relasing a card because there is no competition doesn't gain you sales.

I didn't deny that one might be released but unlike some who are getting too excited,I said it was more likely to be a commercial card,especially considering the costs of moving to a new node and memory,etc.

Plus the last big change on the gaming side with Maxwell,had the pipecleaner GM107 launch over 8 months earlier. Nvidia had just released the GTX780TI around three months earlier.

It is also brave for people to think the GTX1080TI would be replaced within six to nine months - not even the GTX980TI was superseded in less than 12 months and that was on the arse end of 28NM.

I don't think anyone is expected the 1080ti sucessor to be released in the next 6-9 months. More like a 1080 replacement n 6-7, A titan replacement in 9-10 using GDDR6 as reported by Hynix, and the 1080ti successor would be 3-4 months after that.

This has happened for years now in CPU and GPU threads - companies and rumours are published yonks before the parts are released,and all of a sudden people here expect a three month old CPU or GPU design will be suddenly replaced in a few months. People on this very forum thought Sandy Bridge would be replaced in the same year it was launched by Ivy Bridge just because Intel talked about it a few months after launch.

For years GPUs were updated every 12-18 months, nothing surprising if Pascal is updated after 18 months.

You seem to think Nvidia would release a new top to botom line up simultaneous in September-October which seems ridiculous. They will be releasing the mid-rnage stuff first, the Titan and then the titan for people who aren't loaded, aka the 2080ti

Guys don't think Nvidia will release new gpu after TI. It will be around 1-1,5 year from 1080 release Imo. They would lose to much money. Look on 980+ pattern. :

I'm routing for AMD so prices can come down, don't get me wrong. AMD have been sneaking out should be good against 1080/Ti and seem confident , but just look at the raw number from Volta GV100 . little in the ground breaking stuff from the likes of AMD but just raw power. Looking like it'll be a jumper jump then Maxwell to Kepler and Pascal to Maxwell.

Will be to busy with new born to look at them ;(

That would be shorter than the GTX980TI which was superceded in performance by the GTX1080 I have in around 12 months,and the GTX780TI which was superceded in performance 11 months after it was announced by the GTX980.

I am surprised because,if you look at the last few generations just by pure performance(which is what people are more worried about),you had the smaller die GTX680 supercede the GTX580 in 17 months,you had the GTX780TI being superceded by the faster GTX980 in roughly 11 months,and the GTX980TI was superceded in performance around 12 months too by the GTX1080.

The GTX2080 will be faster than a GTX1080TI if previous history holds true,so if that is the case,going by the March 2017 release of the GTX1080TI it would be superceded by the GTX2080 in performance within six to nine months after launch,which means it will be dethroned much quicker.

Maybe you are right,and the GTX1080TI will be superseded relatively quickly in performance this year - it would be a very aggressive move by Nvidia.

volta looks to be 3 generations ahead of vega comfortably. suffice to say amd wont be able to compete with NVidia for years to come.
hopefully high end vega will come in at under 300 quid
