o2 "confirm" new iPhone in 'weeks'....

£169 was a good price, was tempted to by from the bay but people are bidding silly money on used models, I'd rather sit on my cash and buy a brand new v2..............

I expect Apple to say that the prices are now £169, and £269 (following recent stats since the pricedrop yada yada..) at WWDC

£169 for 16GB iPhone
£269 for 32GB iPhone (both with 3G)

Of course, this is assuming they'll keep the "deal price" for the lower model, and not return to the £269 and £329 pricepoints.

I agree... but it does depend on the features!

My 1st gen iphone does all I need...and was a bargain at £169!

As always, time will tell...

See my last post on the-iblog for my thoughts on it! Would link but I'm on the iPhone. Anyone care to do the honours?

Ha! I think most current iPhone owners (who bought at the price drop) are still trying to justify spending £200 on one; so the concept of a new one offends them, and thus they reject the idea and end up in denial, trying to convince themselves they "don't need" the latest greatest.

That is, until they see the new features and it starts to eat away at them..

[disclaimer] This is my logic behind why someone wouldn't want a better phone at the same price [/disclaimer]

This is how Apple's formula has worked for years though.

Narh, if its good, and easily unlocked then i'll get one if the price is right.

Tbh I can't see those prices being real. It would be a really quick way to alienate a lot of people who have just bought their device.

I would expect their original prices to be more likely, and possibly even higher.

Don't forget, it's only O2 and CW that have been running the lower prices. Apple have always stuck to their 269/329 points. They'll also have a stack of first gen 32Gb phones sitting around that haven't shifted in any great numbers.

Total finger in the sky, but I think £350 & £425 to be closer to the new prices

I can't see them getting more expensive. I expect the prices to be the same as they were first time round.

I will certainly be buying a v2 as soon as they have been successfully unlocked. My current O2 sim has done me fine for 6 years and i'm sticking with it!

I have a feeling that the UK release will be in July.

Not long to go!
