1) 'Eating into an early grave'

2) 'Miserable'

How are these two things mutual? I would be more miserable trying to eat healthier and actually very much enjoy what I choose to eat.

If it were my choice and allowed, I would have had the NHS euthanize me over a decade ago. Living longer would be and is miserable to me.

Maybe I'll try a whole week of Gregg's donuts next. Because I can and they're super cheap and easy. This thread has provided me the motivation to do so.

Hope I have a heart attack soon - actually this would likely be the only way to get the NHS to take me seriously, that is if I survive it.
Sorry to hear you feel like that.
Sounds like you have other issues going on apart from diet, maybe depression etc - i'd suggest you seek specialist advice / help.
Hopefully you get the advice you need to help and you feel better soon.

I've been trying to but can't curb my (near) obesity.

And now even if I still try to eat a salad, I still need my regular junk on top. I've tried stopping and want to stop but absolutely can't because I'm that addicted.

This is why people are confused, they're looking at it from your first reply of wanting to change.

The mental health side has already been written off as untreatable / uncurable just because none of the SSRIs work and they refuse to give me anything else.

Have an ongoing ASD / ADHD referral but it will be the same thing, the NHS does not do anything more than prescribe SSRIs.

I don't think you understand. Most people here don't want to listen, they don't want to understand. They want to berate you, and shame you in the misplaced idea that it will motivate you to change your behaviour - because problems are simple and they have all the answers.

Thats funny because I would have said most of the replies are trying to understand and offer solutions to the issues he is presenting. Plenty of people have said that its not easy but its not impossible as well.

If shaming fat people worked then we wouldn't have any overweight people. If people didn't normalise being overweight and completely ignore it as if it isn't horribly bad for you then we might be in a much better place however.

It sounds like this is the core of the issue. Your health/mental health issues are far more important than your diet.

Wow. I didn't even click that he was replying to you and you were the one who posted that picture! I just read the "takeaway salad" and was immediately reminded of that post in the Now Eating thread.

£1.40 for a tub of shredded lettuce and a few cucumber slices.

You literally can't find any 'salad' takeaways on Just Eat.

When ordering on just eat they ignore any such comments I leave in the box usually 'please make it proper spicy'. Had a 'vindaloo' takeaway recently that was as mild as a bottle of tomato sauce just with some extra flavour and definitely a decent amount of sugar.

All those 'Indian / Thai / Chinese etc' restaurants don't make 'Indian / Thai / Chinese / etc' food. They make food adapted for white Brit's palletes with loads of extra junk added to them.

"All those restaurants" What, as in every restaurant in UK?? :D
There are plenty of restaurants/cafes that serve authentic food, just dont go to the chains. Thai, we order from Thai Aroy Dee. Excellent food and spicy as hell if you order certain dishes

Why not order 2 weeks of food for ~£40 from Amazon? Deliveroo there are more restaurants. I see Just Eat as a pizza and fastfood type app. Deliveroo was always more for restaurants. You can also order from supermarkets with no minimum spend.
I've been in Co-op and see a Deliveroo driver picking up 4 beers for someone to deliver! That was the only item too

It's not really feasible for them to coddle literally everyone with depression, anxiety, ADHD etc.. you'll have some local mental health services your GP can refer you to, this could take a few weeks and might involve something like a phone call or two and some online CBT or similar type stuff.

They prescribe SSRIs because they do help a lot of people, that doesn't mean your solution should just be some pills and magically everyone is made better.

There is loads of free mindfulness stuff on youtube etc...

Doing regular exercise (including getting outdoors regularly), eating a good diet, trying to get a good night's sleep etc... can all help significantly, it shouldn't just be about pills especially if they're not really working or perhaps aren't sufficient for you.

The main issue is that the NHS will not allow Buproprion / Modafinil / Stims even if someone actually needs them. SSRIs are not a cure all, and they generally dont work in people with fatigue / lethargy as any phschology text book suggests.

Many of the medications that would likely work for my mental health also curb appetite. Yes they have the potential to be abused as well. I don't agree that should prohibit them from being prescribed after 6 SSRIs fail to do anything.

I've done all of the things I can manage myself.

There's no minimum spend but there is a small order fee, which is normally applied on anything less than £20 iirc so once you've added that, the service fee and delivery you're probably looking at £5-10 on top of the order.
