Oblivion Mods

I'm working on a alcohol mod so you get drunk when you drink something alcoholic. At the moment it just gives you double vision even after just one drink. I'm trying to make it so you get different stages of being drunk and eventually you pass out if you have too much but I'm not sure how to do that.

The Improved UI mod sounds great, i was going to download that but i read it had some bugs and was therefore a bit apprehensive. Has anyone encountered any?

There are a few graphical flaws, lines overextending below the inventory list and some of the colours aren't quite matched, but no bugs that break anything that I've found. Much easier to use now being able to see 15-20 items and having a full screen map :). Its called BTMods now, after a couple of UI mods were combined.

I have the exact same character type, i dont know if the 134 figure was an exaggeration

No exaggeration. I was in a cave, at about level 9, but was using a bow and arrow that each did 4 damage. They would seriously regenerate the health as fast as I could take it away.

Just last night at lvl 12 I found one out in the open and he wasn't near as hard, only like 10 arrows or so. Now I have a bow that does 6 and arrows did 5.

Playing as a almost pure marksmen I didn't think those arrows are too overpowered. fun for sure but at 150 odd gold a pop its not like you can do a whole dungeons just spamming them. Without the sneak bonus bows can be a little weak compared to swords\axes.

I'm really looking forward to the leveledlists changes, should make it a lot more believable. A bit easier to play but on the other hand its harder to farm cash so i reckon it ballences out.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but i couldnt see the textures mod that allows you to see textures in the distance.. could anyone get me a link?

cheers,
naffa

If you want to play a sneaky character then you need the hunter mod, deadlier sneaking and the ATTACK AND HIDE V2.1 BUNDLE PACK

this mod sounds intresting, will try it for my next game..

You've felt it. You've been playing with a realism mod, like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. You see one bear every five square miles, maybe three deer. You entered the lair of the Worm King and discovered it was staffed by maybe ten necromancers. You've been to Oblivion, and fought ten to 15 daedra.. not much of a world-destroying threat to be sure. You've watched your character turn into a living God compared to all the bandits, marauders, conjurers, necromancers, and creatures around you.

Bethesda got around this with leveled lists that scaled with you.. but we all know how lame that made things. Upping a creature's stats is Mobflation, which only makes battle longer and more dull, not more exciting and challenging.

Almost all of us run one of the many balance mods out now, but they only exacerbate a problem... you become so much better than everything else in the empty world that the fear is gone, the challenge is gone, and all you're left with is the narrative.

Now, I present to you the solution known by pen and paper RPG DMs for years... instead of creatures that simply get more powerful with you, you get MORE CREATURES!

Yes, now there really ARE daedric armies. Now the necromancers truly are a threat. Cabals of conjurers outside the ethical laws of the Mage guild hide in their caverns, creating armies of Atronachs poised to strike. Bears hunt with their mates, and only the most egotistical of the Creature races dare venture into battle alone

This mod will bring back the excitement of epic, near-death battles.

That "More Creatures" mods looks fun, but must be a total system killer. :)

edit: yeah, running into a herd of deer gave me 1fps. :D

The mods im after are all over 2mb and they get to about 100k and stop - and they are corrupted.

Been happening all day for me even after clearing cache.
if you don't have any joy today, tell me which ones you're after and i'll host them elsewhere for you, to see if that helps.

I just downloaded the Natural Environments mod, but unfortunately it looks like once it's installed, you can't get rid of it so I didn't bother. Much prefer the ones you can enable or disable via the game's launcher.
