So according to Techpowerup, Anandtech and Hardware Canucks the 6970 is louder, hotter at load and slower than a 580 but cheaper and roughly the same performance wise as a 570? About what was expected then.

Oh no they are not.

Were £1 cheaper on 6950 and £4 cheaper on 6970. Also ours are HIS, which is a brand I'd take over Powercolor any day, plus the HIS have power adapters and crossfire bridge in the box.

You do have a point, to be honest I was a bit disappointed with Nvidia refresh but no where near as much as with Amd.


Edit 6950 at just over 200 is quite good

I commented last night on DPD been unable to guarantee any deliveres to Northern depots before Christmas last night. I was just going to order a 6950 and take RM special delivery for £11. Then i added an akasa 120mm fan and a tube of mx-3 i've been needing for a while, and the delivery charge changed to £25

In all honesty gtx 580 is better then the 6970 this is obivous but it just comes down to taste/money you have tbh if you have 400 ish pounds to spare buy a gtx 580 if you have around 300 buy a 6970.

RM special delivery is a rip off, it gets very expensive. Though it's probably a mistake since a 120mm fan and MX-3 aren't exactly heavy.
