OcUK Captains Log - The Great Pirate Hunt

Quiet?

Don't think ye' be puttin a muzzle on us just quite yet there buckos. Last check we're still ahead with blue skys above. Yer fleet isn't even a glimmer in my telescope yet. When I SEE you, I might start to load the cannons. But until then, good wind in yer sails and blue skies for ye'.:D

I wonder what sort of distraction they will be to those pesky pirates. Probably not that much. They seem to be more into sheep.

No Quad here, but I have a comparatively lowly E6600 on the case - one WU done and another two with roughly 45 minutes left - as Tesco would put it, "every little helps" ...

I be willing to join this fray - 1 dual core laptop paddling away :p

Its not much, but Im going for my first million on Seti, so dont want to drag too many cores away..

I couldn't not join in :D

The only thing I have available to me on the rig is this old M1710 with it's lowly T2600 CPU (that's not strictly true, I do have the Asus Eee but I don't think the 900MHz Celeron will do much for my output :o).

Installed last night (remembered how from my last little foray into the world of Rosetta) and been crunching away merrily since. It's switched "not on" for about two hours a day whilst I tote it around at each end of my shift. looks like I'll be getting around 250-300 cobblies per day going by output so far.
Only a fraction of what I could do if I was home but every little helps :)

Edit: Forgot the obligatory piratespeak. Shiver me timbers, splice the mainbrace and make the scurvy dogs walk the plank ..........etc.

This is the most interesting thing that's happened around here in ages and I get to miss most of the action - s'not fair :(

I have an XPS M1710 and It's been one of my favorite PCs. How do you like yours?
Glad you're enjoying the Boarding Party. We've been havin' a blast with it too. Glad ta have yer ships, however small in the race. BTW. If you load Boinc on yer eeePC I'll load it on mine. I dare ya. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!:D

Stan, this Goodspeed fella claims to be a whisky drinker. You might want to review his whisky tastes to see if you approve. I think there's a link in one of the first few pages of this thread. :)

Love my M1710. Plays all my games, great screen, lovely big keyboard, nice and quick. Been having a few little troubles with the graphics lately though. I changed out the HDD for a 160GB 7200rpm one and stuck Vista on it. After that I seem to be having trouble with what looks like the GPU/memory overheating. I'm not sure whether it's crappy drivers (no Vista drivers for the Go 7900GTX so using modded inf) or graphics card on the way out.

OK. You're on :D I'll load up the Eee in the morning as it's in the office outside and I can't be bothered to go fetch it now.
Harharharharrrrrrr!!

I tried to have a look but the picture seems to be in a seekrit section so I couldn't see what it was - maybe I'll sign up ;)
