Hardly surprising that your gts does so well as it is a nvidia game and one of the ones that favour them pretty heavily as the graph shows. I don't think ati can do anything to improve there performance the same as they could not in crysis either.

The GTS is still a great card, and Crysis really shows off it's capabilities. However, if you look at the vast ammount of 4850 and 4870 reviews online you will see this is one of the few games where it can still compete (and actually outrun) the ATI cards. I suspect that benching Crysis with AA enabled would swing things towards the red camp.

I think Half Life EP2 and Oblivion were examples of games that were ATI biased.

Here's a quick bench of my 4850 runing the "Gamer" demo with 4xAA enabled. Would anyone with an 8800GTS/9800GTX/+ like to run the same bench and post results? I downclocked my E8500 to 4GHz to make it a fair comparisson.

edit: Just for fun, here's one with 8xAA.

I think this thread (without AA benches) is biased towards NVidia cards:).

Just ran Gamer Mode, 1280x1024, with 4xAA like you have.

With my GTS, i got Avg: 26.43. So the 4850 exceeds when AA is enabled! :)
Thanks. Now would anyone with a single GTX260/280 like to see if they can beat a lowly 4850 with 4x or 8x AA enabled? Not that AA is important on Crysis - there are not too many straight lines in the entire game.

I also tried "Enthusiast" @ 1680x1050 with 4xAA and got 19.96fps.

OP Request - How about adding a GAMER 1280x1024 benchmark with 4xAA? This should allow the ATI cards to compete more fairly.

Can anyone with a 4870 tell me why when i run the benchmark in 1280x1024 gamer settings i get an average of 40 and minimum of 16 approx but if i set up a config file with :
r_TexturesStreaming = 0

i get a average of 49 and a minimum of 25.

As far as i know the texturestreaming command makes no difference visually but in this benchmark improves avg/min fps a lot.

Is this a bug in crysis warhead with Ati cards or is there some other explanation?

Could someone with a 4870 test this out?

Time to get a 260 in the enthusiast table too :D (Just a light overclock, it gets 28.3fps as standard)

I get this with a 4870 clocked at 800/950 with dual core cpu at 3.1ghz but only with texturesstreaming=0 in config.

Wow, now thats one heck of a driver release! 70% performance boost in crysis :D

Although its probably something mundane like the benchmark tool not setting the correct res or a custom config
