I am going to have to pull out, I was at a trackday today and hit someones alternator.....yes, really!! how an alternator can fall off of a car I'll never know.
Yes, feel free, I would normally come in my other car but I have to put it through an MOT as I wasn't expecting to be in the position and I'll probably need Monday to fix the Mazda to be honest.
rad and undertray, the front bumper is looking a little worse than before but she has seen a lot of action as I am a RWD newb so wasn't perfect to start with.
Be interested to read your thoughts in changing the radiator, meant to be a pig of a job on the Mk3 MX5. Gone for an OEM replacement or one of the larger capacity rads (koyo or similar)?
I have just gone cheap, for speed, cooling doesn't seem to be an issue, in fact my was over cooling so will do the 'stat too this time. OE is a very good lightweight rad, the cheapies are double the weight.
It is a pig but probably not for someone like yourself who seems a bit more hands on, the first time I did it, I'd never done any mechanic stuff myself, always pay some one but Mazda was a learning tool for me, not just on RWD but on cars in general, the rad took me ages, all the liners have to come out, bumper off etc, I actually photographed it and wrote it up, perhaps I should post it somewhere LOL reckon I'll have it done in an hour or so this time.
Something I've just taken for granted treating it like a normal trackday, but I am right in assuming helmets are a requirement aren't I? Only just thought as I'll be bringing a passenger and haven't let him know.
