** OCUK EXCLUSIVE - AK RACING & AROZZI GAMING CHAIRS **

Obviously too late now but in future I'd suggest holding onto any packaging for a week or two.

Yeah my bad. But surely from a rma / guarantee perspective you wouldn't be expected to keep the original packaging for two years.

Can any ocuk staff comment on my situation and give me available options?

Cheers,

David

Thanks for that that.

Would you say that, apart from the plastic, the rest of the chair feels like it will last a while?

Yes the premium is solid, and very comfortable.
I'm only sending mine back due to the plastic snapping and the arm rests move too much for my liking, any movement and I can hear the thudding of plastic against metal.
Apart from that great chair.
They just have to work on there quality and quality control in the future.

As far as I know until recently you didn't even need packaging for something returned under the DSR, so no you aren't expected to but usually you'll notice any serious problems pretty quickly.

wouldn't say 2 years but it has to be protected if it's being shipped back to us.

Would say that the onus of care falls with you to makesure it's packed properly it's 25 KG so you can't just get any old cardboard box. so I'd keep the original packaging For a reasonable amount of time I mean you can flat pack it and put it behind a wardrobe or under a bed.

Chairs are sturdy as heck been sat in one for 2 days at the office doesn't feel like it will fall apart on me and still has all the parts attached.

I think the QC has let this launch down quite heavily but i don't think it's been as much of a disaster as it may seem on this thread.

Yeh totally, I'm sure most of your orders are perfectly fine and only a small percentage of returns/problems?
Just a quality control issue, something they should get sorted out quickly and be better in the future.

Finally picked up my Premium Black/Black.

After the few people with problems I was put off even collecting from DPD

After putting it together I found no problems at all everything seems functional not stitching problems or markings.

Two things that really don't suit a chair for this money is really poor quality plastic used for covering the back mechanism (which don't even line up correctly on the loose hinge side) and the chair tilt mechanism I would have thought would have been lever controlled not the basic knob to tilt.

The arm rests wobble but every chair I have ever used that has these types have been exactly the same as is no issue at all.

People keep talking about the dx ones as being better, but from what i can tell looking at pics/vids they literally look the same. Are we sure that ak isnt just a rebadged dx? Do the dx have the plastic sides etc?

Thing is DX was the one who started it all (The whole race seat chair thing)
They have had time to get there quality control to great levels over time, meaning when you buy one, its more than likely going to be flawless.
But yes they are essentially the same thing, apart from the plastic side parts on dx actually are designed for the chair and fit properly.
Same thing hopefully happens with ak over time and they decide to take care in what they are doing.
Apart from the plastic sides and a few cosmetic issues, the ak are pretty much perfect.

I'm pretty sure the DX will have far better quality ABS plastic that won't be brittle and just break like on the AK.

Well the DX is more expensive :)
Going to cost £220 for the F series (similar to the AK 179 model but with PU leather) and almost £250 for the D series (similar to the premium ak)

Oh yeah absolutely, but worth it to not have the headaches and shenanigans of coming home to find parts of the chair have fallen off randomly.

I now have a problem with the gas lift on mine, all the sudden the chair went down bumping on the way, now only lifts about half the height it did before. So I would too like to know what the deal is going to be on getting replacement parts, will I have to send the whole chair back, or just the gas lift? If it's just the gas lift will I have to send that back before receiving the replacement or can I send it back after?

Before someone asks I am nowhere near the 28 stone limit, more 12 or 13 maximum :D

Hi Guys

I have had official feedback from AK Racing.

Firstly, let me apologise on behalf of Overclockers UK and the Caseking group to anyone who has had issues with their purchase. We are hardware enthusiasts who understand the frustration of getting a product that doesn't meet expectation.

Given the timeframe, we are still gathering feedback to assess a default rate on these products. Early reports are quite limited and we are sadly only able to act upon actual RMA requests.

As I have previously mentioned, if you have a chair that you have not yet raised a ticket over, it is imperative that you act upon this as soon as possible.

We are working closely with our suppliers and AK Racing to rectify each issue but cannot assist people who are yet to contact us.

Our suppliers are taking strong action against any problems. They are in talks internally to assess batch issues and take measures to ensure that any oversights will not happen in future.

Overclockers UK and Caseking are starting a process of stock evaluation to inspect each of these chairs for faults.

We are in the process of talking to our suppliers and trying to find solutions for all of this.

Akracing has now set up a contact form for customers who are in need of support.
but for the time being, I urge all Overclockers UK customers to only deal with Overclockers UK for any support issues.

There is also an assembly instruction available that describe in detail the assembly of the chairs.

There is also a similar thing for Arozzi

I will of course keep you updated on any developments on this matter.

Rich

To be honest it isn't OC that needs to apologise, it's AK Racing and short of remanufacturing the plastic components to a much higher standard and changing the quality/type of plastic, they are not going to solve this problem. That's without taking into account any of the problems others have of stitching and seams parting, gas lift failing etc.
