**OcUK EXCLUSIVE - RAZER BLADE WORLD's THINNEST GAMING LAPTOP!**

kudos to ocuk for being proactive, but i was disappointed as hell when the razer released this product. there are, at least in america, similar spec but dual 7970m laptops for less. for a company wishing to bring back pc gaming it's not really doing much good is it :/. at least it's better than the indefensible 555m/dual core they were planning to use.

It's not all about performance though, the build quality is pretty much un-rivalled and the laptop itself is a work of art. Plus it's ultra rare and exclusive!

Would I buy one? No I'd buy the OcUK 7970M based laptops, way faster, half the price, but everyone has different taste and requirements. :)

+1, although I'd buy one for the right price. Sadly its way off in this regard. Your sales on this laptop echo sentiment for it. 2/10 sold in a month. And you had a £200 off discount promotion weekend/this day only iirc. This needs to be around £1600 to have any chance and even then it faces stiff opposition from competing manufacturers.

I'm not directing this at OcUK, i'm very loyal to your company and hold you in high regard yet Razer need to know. We like their products but they need to be realistic. I respect that they have significant development costs pushing a new laptop case design and innovative features but if they have any chance of recouping their investment they have to deliver the product at a decent price point - they are not Apple, they can't get away with an Apple business-like strategy.

(Please accept that I'm not trying to be negative. I like the laptop, but I'm not paying that amount for it (nor would I pay £1600 with current offerings, it would have to have better graphics and ssd, I'd be happy if they had a standard trackpad as its the format I like not gimmick screen touchpads, my mouse is fine). I also reserve the right to be humbled for my assumption that i believe I'm keeping up with your sales figures/stock list on this product! - I'm only going on what I've seen on your website)

I think if this was in the £1800-2000 it would be bang on where it should be for what it is.
Asus's new laptop/ultrabook the UX51 is around £1800, and is of comparable thickness to the Razer, but the Razer is quicker (UX51 has a GT650) and has a larger screen than the UX51.

Apologies for resurrecting this thread but what do those who have but these from OcUK think of them. Plus have you got some pics?

A very nice laptop. If you had the money. Kudos for OCUK doing all the import and support donkey work.

The End.

from the reviews I've seen you can get a much more powerful gaming laptop for about half the price. Obviously it wont be as thin and probably wont have the fancy keyboard, but i know what i'd prefer

Would be interested in finding out what the import costs of these bad boys are.

I like the lappy but the price gives me a heart attack :o

USD price divided by 1.55.

Add Shipping

Then add VAT (20%) and other applicable duties and admin charges.

Normally for an import, simple and easiest way is take USD price, divide it by 1.55 and then add 30%.

If your mega lucky, sometimes you might not get custom charges and not end up paying VAT/Duty etc.

On the whole I think it's a bit too pricy. Needs to be about the £2000 mark in the uk, but then again, the question is, what is it's direct competion?

Having recently traveled home with my laptop at christmas I can honestly say a lighter laptop would be very welcome, but I'd still want to be able to play games on it.

There is the Asus UX51 but it only comes with 2 128GB SSD drives in Raid 0 and tbh that's not a lot of use to me or others I know who play games, far too little space.

The Macbook Pro 15" non-retina with 1680*1050 res screen is almost a perfect fit for portable gaming. 'Almost' because I'm not a fan of Mac OS X, and it's gimping the macbook pro bootcamping it to run Windows.

just watched the video on the tablet on xbl, the one you've got listed is the basic model an priced up at the top end model.
Them things will never shift if people have seen the CES footage.

$999.99 basic, $1300.00 mid an $2k for the one with keyboard/docking station/gaming pad think it would be cheaper to import it are selfs :(

Is that actually the tablet? Or is that a lappy with the blade name? Because the tablet doesn't have a mechanical HDD and uses a 640M...

According to the CES show its a tablet with full desktop hardware, they showed one playing Dishonoured with the game pad addon.

Did look really impressive an they were showing the basic model 64gig SSD variant, there's a video on xbox live.

I think you've got it a bit wrong. The Razer Edge (entry model) and Pro (top end model) aren't released and available to buy yet. They've only just officially announced them at CES 2013.

The item OcUK have listed is the second gen Razer Blade laptop which has a 17.3" screen, GTX660m, switchblade etc. It's a full blown portable laptop compared to the Edge which is a very nice gaming capable 10" tablet, which personally I can't wait to see one in the flesh.
