I have just come back from a suspension and as some people have already said on here, the decisions the moderators and administrators make should be relaxed a little. At the moment, the suspensions/bans are not lifted even if the reason behind it was not what it appeared to be.
I was suspended for "thread trashing" because I posted in someone's thread in the MM, informing the seller that the item could be bought for new from a competitor for £4 more (including postage) than he was selling it for. Now I wasn't trying to trash his thread, but inform him that the item was unlikely to sell at that price. I am assuming that most MM users shop around for the best deal and would have come across the competitor quite easily... so I was advising the seller.
As Scuzi said to me over MSN, I could have emailed the contents of my post to him instead, but that thought didn't even cross my mind because I didn't realise that trying to help someone was going to get me suspended.
I had also been suspended a few weeks earlier, but I accept that one because I has been stupid enough to confuse the rules, and therefore it was entirely my fault, but in this case it would have been greatly appreciated if the administrators/moderators had the rights to come to their own conclusion on my defence and maybe unsuspended me.
Anyways, this is just an example of where the rules could be relaxed a little
Spie, maybe you could reply to emails a little more. I understand you may be busy, but a short email explaining why you suspended me in the City Link thread a few months ago would have been appreciated, especially when I was not even referring to a OcUK order. Luckily I managed to contact one of the other moderators and was unsuspended after I explained that my bad experience with City Link was in fact with a competitor.
Other than that I think these forums are great!
I am really liking the recent change of attitude around these forums, and I am sure it will make them an even better place!
