I personally don't think this is a good idea as most games come out cross platforms and if you want to get opinions on a particular one, you would have to trawl/post in 3 forums. Oh, and you forgot to include a subforum for the best selling next gen console - the Wii. So no need for one really.

I also think these would be good:
Status quo on the tight rules, if not tighter;
Reasons why people get suspended/permabaned to prevent repeats;
Another avatar at say 3000 or 5000;
Tigher MM rules;
More clarification on what is acceptable and appropriate to post or not;
(And the utopian one of banning people who don't make the effort of using proper grammar and spelling!)

I agree with what AcidHell2 says here. I think that it would give the forum a better flow if when moderations are made on problem posts then these were visible, i.e. the offending text was removed with an edit comment by the Don saying why. It would give a better indication on what is and is not acceptable in the forum, (not just for obvious things like competitors but also the level of PG'ness of the forum), along with who is doing the moderation. Unfortunately doing this instead of just removing offending material would mean work for the Don's. ****

It would also give an indication then why someone has been permabanned as the reason would be in the moderation comment.

I also think that there should be a few more Sub Forums, but not to many ... for instance I think that the Music and Box Office Forum should be split and there be a sperate Music one and a seperate Movies & TV one.

But overall I think things should not change to much as they seem to work pretty well as they are :)

Intelligent race and religion discussions can be interesting but I agree they are very hard to mod and often leads to arguements. Should they be banned though? I'm not so sure.

Haha, or perhaps for people here since the start get discount rather than per 10k :p.
 
As long as the server can take it, the time limit on searches needs to go down to 10 seconds or whatever it was before if possible, please.

The 30 seconds at the moment is a real kick in the teeth if you put the wrong letter in, quickly change it and then realise its half a minute before you might find what your looking for.

Obviously if this isn't possible without slowing the entire server to a crawl i would rather have a fast forum than the 10 second search.
 
I cant think of much apart for some tighter control in the members market, and no offence but some more Mods in the lesser used forums such as the Team OcUK Distributed Computing Projects and PC Games... *stelly winks* but other then that I can't think of anything else to be totally honest with you :)

Apart from quicker response times after reporting a post...

I have a suggestion that hasn't been mentioned and probably won't go anywhere but I'll put it out there anyway. I think the competitor rules should be loosened in the gaming forums. I can understand it for the hardware forums as that is Ocuk's primary market, and Ocuk will in 99% of cases have an equivalent product for anything you want. However when it comes to games there is little on offer (do they even do any games anymore? I can only find gaming hardware), so I think it would make sense to allow members to talk more freely about where you can buy games.

Ban this man for encouraging spammers ;)

Change the OcUK logo on the forums, and (if possible) try and have links to the deals of the week in the relevant sections.

E.g. Have a graphics card deal of the week at the top of "Graphics".
 
1. An avatar for 3000+ posts
2. As knip says, a girl gangster avatar to make the place more accessible to females
3. Keep the tight rules please. It does repel many many losers
4. Another sub-section with all the random general discussion threads. e.g. "i just ran over my mower cable, and got severely electrocuted, spec me a hospital!".
Don't get rid of them but separate in from the slightly more serious discussion. Plus GD threads can get lost to page 2 in an hour

Those are my 2 cents :cool:
