OcUK Forums Changes

Well you can't really ban poor spelling and grammar... (I do realise that was a joke, but it has been suggested seriously at times... what with the 'I HATE PEOPLE WHO CAN'T SPELL' threads  )

But the forums did do a good job at text speak and turning most words into stars

Only two things come to mind:

- Tighter MM entry requirements
- No more banning of people who simply enquire why a particular member has been banned. Better yet, put up a "name and shame" page which lists all banned members and a reason given for the ban. I still don't know why some of my favourite posters were banned :(

:)

Change in moderation. The Mods should not see themselves as 'better' than the regular posters. It is the regular posters that make this forum. Back in the day, a lot, if not most, of the Don's were a bit power hungry.

Also, less secrecy of what happens. No need for it. Bring things out in the open, this is a forum, not the secret service!

Mal :)

The main change that I would like to see would be to have Denic's account unbanned.

That would give us all a laugh. :)

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but perhaps bring back RTM?

Good work on opening up to the masses for suggestions though :D

Just a couple for me.

Not so much a request as a question ....... Why are Commissarios named as such ? Being a fan of true crime and the Mafia and with the theme being the mob, I thought Consigliere would have been the name for a trusted admin / adviser.

One other thing would be a tighter leash and / or a seperate forum for religious discussion. Some of the threads and associated attitudes towards Islam and Muslims are so vitriolic and quite disturbing to read sometimes. While I accept that Islam and other religions are not exactly in harmony in the current climate, some of the posts and comments made make shocking reading.

Not many complaints really, would be nice ot be able to lock your own threads, but its hardly major. As said the MM needs an overhaul IMO, its getting quite slack and after seeing some of the cons im very careful about buying on there, people i do buy from are reputible members.

To be fair there are very few of those sort of threads around now:)
