With all the hacking of various sites and OcUK running an EOL version of VB. Its only a matter of time before someone compromises the DB. So an upgrade would be most welcome.

But the newer versions of vB introduce new security holes, the idea that you can upgrade and it is suddenly more secure is wrong.

I wouldn't mind a mobile version of the forum. Takes ages to load these pages on the train to work. Bring on the change baby. We'll moan about it later, but it's all for the best.

Most new functionality would be turned off so not a massive problem.

Anyhow, the new holes situation occurs with just about every piece of software going, the main issue is that the existing incarnation will no longer be updated/patched. At least the newer stuff is in development and problems are being actively fixed.

No need to be bleeding edge, just on a supported version.

Widescreen Youtube embeds, DO YOU HEAR ME?! It's no longer 1999 so we don't need square media boxes!

Also, enhance/dehance for images posted (or posts quoted containing images) larger than a certain width (e.g. 1024px), like how Neowin/GenMay have (and many others). We can then say good by to the rather dusty "did you have to quote all those images" brigade.

Yeah, I think it would just become a game to see who could accrue the most negative karma. Like Fallout or Mass Effect.
