You were inputting your address and still managed to get one of the MSRP drops!?

He says 'encouraged' to me sounds like they can ask but its not up to them.
Which is utter rubbish because if AMD really wanted they could force AIBs, perhaps even retailers, to sell cards at whatever price they set by telling them if they don't they won't get any more dies/cards

Ultimately AMD/Nvidia/Intel are kings of their respective lands so what they say goes, if AIBs or retails disagree because there's no profit in it for them can choose not to do business with them. (Just like EVGA decided to do).

And if they were to try and force things in that way it would turn out bad for them in the end, intel were the kings of this and it bit them in the ass eventually. All they can really do is offer discounts on gpu's or offer kickbacks for aib's to lower the prices.

The thing is that these cards have been produced and supplied for months leading up to the MSRP reveal, so AIBs were probably charged more when they bought the dies months ago. It may be that prices level out once all that trickles through the supply chain.

So yeah the prices now may not be as heavily scalped as we may think. The rebates were probably to attempt to mitigate the early stock prices.

I dunno, I'm just chatting nonsense waiting for my Reaper to show up!

In what way did it turn out bad for them? Did retails refuse to sell Intel CPUs because there was no profit in it for them.

They got brought to court over anti competitive practices and it was found they (among other things) were dishing out threats. Telling vendors if they stocked any amd cpus they would withhold intel cpus from them. You're saying amd should basically threaten to withhold gpu stock from vendors unless they play ball and lower prices which is more or less the same thing.

So nothing whatsoever to do with telling retails that their product must be sold for X amount of money.

MSRP = Suggested price. The retailers are selling AIB cards not MBA cards so the price isn't fixed. All amd can do is offer kickbacks for the aibs to lower prices, besides that, nothing.

Had amd actually made an mba card this time around then msrp would have been guaranteed for that card, but i suspect the card they presented in renders would have lost them money if they had made it for sale so they went the subsidy route,

Wouldnt have been possible without @Gibbo, so thanks again!

More than double the performance of my 3070 @ 1440p. And it undervolts like a beast. Just messing around I managed to undervolt and power limit to -50watts (245w total gpu draw) and only reduced performance by 1-2 fps (in 3DMark & Cyberpunk 2077).
And under full 100% load ive not seen this Sapphire model go above 49c.

So happy with this.

Hi there

So first of all let me wish you good luck for today.
Due to immense traffic to our website over last 24hrs due to a Borg Armada reference and sighting of a very large solid cube made from Sapphire 9070 XT Pulse cards our website traffic has gone absolutely bonkers.

Anti BOT/Script Measures in place:
As such we are also trialling some new measures to help keep the website alive and also stop BOTS/Scripts from placing an order, in short to make it clear:
  • 1pc per customer
  • UK & Ireland ONLY customers ONLY
  • Website will start blocking known BOT locations, so were only getting genuine UK traffic
  • A new queuing system is been implemented so when customers are on the website it remains responsive for a smoother checkout experience
  • Various other traffic calming and anti BOT measures are in place

MSRP SKU's AVAILABLE:
We will have several MSRP SKU's and to give everyone a chance to get an MSRP card I shall release them in batches, the MSRP cards we will have are:
  • Sapphire Pulse 9070 at £524.99 - 300 units available and shall be released in batches of 100 at a time throughout the day / tomorrow

We have a total of 910 units to sell at MSRP and potentially more! :)
*Once MSRP has sold out expect a £30-60 increase on those SKU's!

Ordering Advice for quickest checkout process:

  • Be signed into your account or have your details ready to copy and paste in
  • Pay using a debit/credit card
  • DO NOT use Amazon, Paypal or finance
  • DO NOT order anything else with your order, just the GPU
  • Select DPD Next Day shipping
  • Forum Member FREE delivery is DPD for today
  • Download the DPD App, updating your preferences and information
  • Join the forums and/or Discord channel for stock updates and information
  • Do not reach out to customer service for more information, unless you have critical amends needed for your order
  • If the product is showing ‘Out of Stock’, sign up for stock notifications via the product page and periodically check back as it will return as a ‘pre-order’ shortly

SUMMARY:

All products shall go live available for order around 14:00 today, so do be checking the website around that time, as I do each product manually they won't all appear at once.
If your choosen SKU sells out at MSRP, remember some will be released in batches to try and give everybody a chance, see above.

We have every SKU in ample stock, except for the extremely desirable Sapphire Nitro 9070 XT which you can pre-order today at £699, are stock is been air freighted and is due to arrive with OcUK early next week, we have several hundred units incoming so pre-order in confidence. :)

For those wanting an OC SKU, we have largest stock piles of Asrock Taichi and Steel Legend, Powercolor Devil and HellHound.

I wish you the best of luck and here is another picture of the Sapphire Borg Solid Cube our marketing department spent hours building. :

Also please do be patient, we have nearly 5000 cards in stock and will potentially sell 2000-3000 units today, of course our warehouse is prepared, extra staffing, more hours but I want to be honest and realistic we won't be able to ship everyones order out today, but we will do our best to ensure they are all shipped over the next day or two, so please be patient, your new card will be on its way in no time. :)
Had Powercolor 9070XT reaper in my basket for £569.99. Tried paying multiple times but ocuk website kept crashing due to scalper bots. Harsh reality is that ocuk sold mostly to scalpers and those scalped 9070/XT gfx cards are now on eBay for rip off prices.

Youtuber Daniel Owen did expose vlog. ******, ocuk and AMD complicit in scalping and price fixing. This is illegal even in UK.

Newbie here managed to snag a Reaper 9070XT for MSRP but have seen that people tended to recommend and go for the Pulse (including myself but that was just because it was the first one I saw) which sold out immediately but the Reaper was still around for a short while after which is how i got one. Just wondering if there’s any particular reason why the Pulse is so sought after?

I think for me was due to reviews I saw using them ...so based my decision on that.
