WOW. I just got a notification my payment was cancelled by my card holder.
If you're able to wait, wait. AMD cards generally go down in price quite fast. (within a few months) This gen may be different though, but unless you're really hurting for a card better not to pay this kind of price.I was prepared to pay £629 because I got a good price for the 7900XT,but I'm not paying £650 for a card that was £569 less than a week ago
Just this second got shipping notification. Awaiting DPD collection.I think someone from OCUK has to come here & possibly look into the cases of people who ordered the GPUs on the day who haven't had any update or correspondence about what is happening
Having sent in three tickets & still not one reply since Saturday - its not the Biggest priority in life & I get that but when people understand what is happening then its easier for them to know if & or when they are getting a card which will be dispatched soon
Yup, even though Amazon pay said the payment was taken, my credit card showed the payment was taken and my OcUK account said the order was confirmed, OcUK have cancelled my order claiming payment failed. So I now have no GPU and no order. This is a complete joke. I only used Amazon Pay because the site was crashing non stop on the payment page. This isn't how to treat customers @Gibbo.
I had similar with my CC. 2 failed payments, which showed as 2 payments and 2 refunds on my CC. I managed to get a pre-order through with paypal in the end.Yup, even though Amazon pay said the payment was taken, my credit card showed the payment was taken and my OcUK account said the order was confirmed, OcUK have cancelled my order claiming payment failed. About OcUK? I know someone who had this happen on another UK store.daniel owen had a video about the order completion, payment, order cancellation and refund thing going on.

I'll just see what the price is when the next cards are for sale then decide what I'm gonna do thenIf you're able to wait, wait. AMD cards generally go down in price quite fast. Problem is whats to stop companies from doing a £100 price point for "MSRP" if only a set percentage at launch will actually hit that price? Get tons of great reviews based off the "price" and then there is no permanent product at that price is deceptive. Can someone explain this to me?
By his own conclusions....
Not a paper Launch, okay....
46% of all GPU's sold were at MSRP, Right....
So its just really weird, he's screaming at the camera, AMD did bad.... and yet the only thing that he can point to was that a small number of the highest end versions sold at 42% above MSRP, that's ridiculous, yes... but what do you want AMD to do about that? Do you want them to chastise their partners for making over priced versions of the cards?
Other than that i don't get it, its a lot of noise, a lot of performative anger and there doesn't even seem to be a reason for it.

Yes, but this wasn't a failed payment. Payment had gone through on my card via Amazon pay, I had a confirmed order notification and my account showed the order as confirmed.I had similar with my CC. 2 failed payments, which showed as 2 payments and 2 refunds on my CC. I think GN Steve was right in that the reasoning behind these price rises are immaterial when it comes to the consumer - in the past it was normal to pay up to 5-15% extra outside XOC AIB models (as he outlines in the video), but now that margin is doubled at least, it's a bit daft. Whether this is down to TSMC, AMD/Nvidia, AIBs, distributors, retailers, whatever, it doesn't matter. It's still egregious and he's right to call it out.
It seems like there's a massive web of internal politics going on the entire supply chain, and the dung is rolling right down onto the consumer. Simply saying "don't buy" isn't a real solution, because the people who aren't posting about this on forums (probably, what, 90% of people buying dGPUs) are going to see the prices, shop around, and buy the cheapest one (like you would do anything else), without knowing that the cheapest one is overpriced.
