OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

The margins for online retail is very low people will buy from the other places if they can save £20 and it's in stock This means everyone has low margins. It's launches like this that gives them a chance to make a more normal margin
Even in "bricks'n'mortar " I would expect people look at pricing.

I looked I couldn't see, I even tried "find on page" via browser and couldn't see.

Regardless, I don't believe 8%, perhaps that's net.

you need to make 30-40% over the total baskets to make a decent profit after running costs ect this might be slightly less for retail warhouse sales with less other costs , 8% is pretty much a loss leader once you factor in costs and invoicing ect

So you are say 8% net?

Loss leaders I understand term/practice.

AMD was not telling lies about stock incoming multiple vendors have stock again this is the polar opposite to the nvidia launch
Had a quick look myself, only other retailers that isn't OcUK I've seen with XT stock was one with a scalped prime for 760 quid, or the river trying to flog a Sapphire Pulse for an even more hilarious 880 notes

I don't know if any other competitors have had stock and sold, but it seems OcUK are the only retailer trying to get these large orders in.

That why you can order a complete rebuild cheaper than you can build yourself. However I find they always cheap out on something.

in the time I said that they all went hence the edit back to pre orders

overclockers seem to have the best relationship with the AMD vendors so your better of waiting for one here

You mean they're cheaping out by using basic B650, a 850w bronze PSU and RAM with 40+ CAS on a prebuilt with a 9800x3d and 5080?

People like you and me might know, but unfortunately outside of the enthusiast sphere its only the GPU and maybe the CPU that people look at.

The other places taking pre orders means if your late you have no chance and they have taken a lot or orders.. The love the way OC give us a chance and drop at different times.

Anyone know if the prices for the cards on the site are placeholder or the confirmed new price for now IE the sapphire pulse now £650 instead of 570. Thanks! Sorry if it's been said a thousand times already xD

Nothing confirmed, but expect them to be the new normal for the short term.

There were only 20 cards that sold at that price with the 8% profit margin on release day, and Gibbo did say that it was a deal with Asrock and wasn't really worth their time.

The pre order shipment got stuck in customs.gibbo expect it in this week with some extra pulse it further back on the thread.i would get the asrock if it was not white.

If you look at the red banner that comes up and add all of the units sold it looks like its under 100 today. Wasn't there 300 units to be sold? And all sold out even the very expensive card? If it was me and they weren't selling I'd take them down to make demand seem high. Sell all the new cards for 650 and put them back up in a day or two at a slightly lower price to sell. Can't lower the price today or people would cancel orders, can't keep them up if they aren't selling. Play it wrong and you could have hundreds of cards not sold. But what do I know. I'm paranoid and sore I missed out on MSRP lol
