Even in "bricks'n'mortar " I would expect people look at pricing. The margins for online retail is very low people will buy from the other places if they can save £20 and it's in stock This means everyone has low margins. It's launches like this that gives them a chance to make a more normal margin
I looked I couldn't see, I even tried "find on page" via browser and couldn't see.Post in thread 'OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00' 96401
8% is low. Original post for your reference.
you need to make 30-40% over the total baskets to make a decent profit after running costs ect this might be slightly less for retail warhouse sales with less other costs , 8% is pretty much a loss leader once you factor in costs and invoicing ect
Had a quick look myself, only other retailers that isn't OcUK I've seen with XT stock was one with a scalped prime for 760 quid, or the river trying to flog a Sapphire Pulse for an even more hilarious 880 notesAMD was not telling lies about stock incoming multiple vendors have stock again this is the polar opposite to the nvidia launch
That why you can order a complete rebuild cheaper than you can build yourself. However I find they always cheap out on something.Even in "bricks'n'mortar " I would expect people look at pricing.

Regardless, I don't believe 8%, perhaps that's net.
So you are say 8% net?
Loss leaders I understand term/practice.
in the time I said that they all went hence the edit back to pre ordersHad a quick look myself, only other retailers that isn't OcUK I've seen with XT stock was one with a scalped prime for 760 quid, or the river trying to flog a Sapphire Pulse for an even more hilarious 880 notes
I don't know if any other competitors have had stock and sold, but it seems OcUK are the only retailer trying to get these large orders in.
You mean they're cheaping out by using basic B650, a 850w bronze PSU and RAM with 40+ CAS on a prebuilt with a 9800x3d and 5080?That why you can order a complete rebuild cheaper than you can build yourself. However I find they always cheap out on something.
The other places taking pre orders means if your late you have no chance and they have taken a lot or orders.. The love the way OC give us a chance and drop at different times.in the time I said that they all went hence the edit back to pre orders
overclockers seem to have the best relationship with the AMD vendors so you better of waiting for one here
Nothing confirmed, but expect them to be the new normal for the short term.Anyone know if the prices for the cards on the site are placeholder or the confirmed new price for now IE the sapphire pulse now £650 instead of 570. Thanks! Sorry if it's been said a thousand times already xD
There were only 20 cards that sold at that price with the 8% profit margin on release day, and Gibbo did say that it was a deal with Asrock and wasn't really worth their time.Even in "bricks'n'mortar " I would expect people look at pricing.
