** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

I really wish I could read a thread about these cards without people complaining about so called price gouging and a tenner difference here and there.

I'm nicely surprised with these prices. It won't be long before we see them under <£500 on offers. Lets see what 1070 are priced like and how AMD will respond with their value/ performance.

LEDs on backplate is cheesy. Was looking at the strix aura. Glad I went with EVGA FTW
The FTW has even more garish LEDs than the Strix. :D

Finally, about 40 years too late, we have reached the age of the DISCO PC...

LED Motherboards
LED CPU Coolers
LED Graphics Cards
LED RAM
LED Light Strips
LED Fans

All I need now is a mirror-ball in the roof of my case... with LED's in it naturally! :)

Yeah, flash lights. I'm looking at choosing a new updated 2011 board (for broadwell-e) and of the ones that look decent spec and not too cheap they have these stupid flashy LED - no thanks.

I personally hate windowed cases too :).

Bah I have a red and black colour scheme in my pc. Was looking forward to the msi card that had the same / similar design as my current 970s - so obviously it weighs in as one of the most expensive ones :/

I think I'm gonna leave it for a while - I wouldn't rule out £500 quid on a graphics card but if that only gets me a dodgy one I'd rather not bother.

Hopefully AMD will pull a rabbit out of the hat and give us a reasonably priced alternative.

Not that it's OCUK's fault, but those are obscenely priced.

There are going to be some very long faces when AMD (and NVIDIA) high end cards launch later this year.

People paying more than the massive die 980Ti / Fury X for an enthusiast card are absolutely mad.

Its performance lead is going to be a few months, only to be obliterated by both AMD and NVIDIA's own cards and be dropped enormously in price.

Also bear in mind you're paying a huge early adopter's premium for a card that's going to look ... foolish in DX12 & Vulkan.

Going to play devil's advocate here but... kind of an assumption going round that the FTW will clock better than the SC because of the extra power pin. Could the extra power not just be needed to run those bank of RGB lights....?
