** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

My FTW comes in 15 mins.

What I can't comment on the forums? If I was the Asus preorder people I would switch. I was having a hard time waiting the time I waited already. Feel sorry for the others they have to wait even longer

If I had a strix order I would keep it, the prices now are through the roof and its probably the best card which is binned etc.

It was 1 day and there is nothing to switch to that is in stock anyway.

*edit* actually there is palit jetstream and gamerock

Love the fact that I decided on a Palit jetstream last week as fed up waiting for my G1 and FTW pre-orders and it was in stock and delivered next day.

tbh I feel for all you people still waiting, if the rumors are correct with a Titan being announced in August, I couldn't keep waiting for my 1080, heck as I knew I was only getting my 1080 FTW in July that made me cancel as I thought what was the point now? might as well wait for the next release. and for people STILL waiting I know Titan will be more expensive but surely it's worth waiting till August see if it does get announced? from prices to availability this launch has been a joke!

Problem is that it may be announced in August but you don't get your card until xmas.

Its now Monday morning and I am a unhappy bunny. My order of the EVGA SC was 43rd in the que. As you all known now they only got 40. = me gutted. Roll on end of this week.

Same.

Look on the bright side - you are now 3rd in the queue and I'm 6th ;)

I'm hoping Ben will update on when we might expect a shipment this week.

People swapping cards? You keep your original time of order when you swap cards.

The reason is that people swapped from another card to this one. OC put people in order of original order date. I doubt I will 3rd as people will have swapped by now knowing at lest EVGA cards are coming in.

I'm British. If you move out of a queue, you should know 2 things:

  • You leave the queue you're in and join the new one (in this case, a new graphics card) at the back
  • Your old queue will now go much quicker :p

Don't be so sure. I went from 105th to 67th in the queue after those 40 got shipped. Work that one out....

Defo people swapping cards caused that.

I was 120 something when I ordered on the 2nd June
Check a little while later (after first 50 came in) and I was 56th
Checked last week (Tuesday) cos there was supposed to be 50 units coming in and I was 46th.
With only 40 units actually arriving I should be 6th.

If people still swap, I can't imagine I'd move that much from 6th*

If in August I got definitive word of specs pricing and availability even if it was Xmas and I still hadn't received my Strix, I'd cancel and pick up a 1060 to tide me over till a Titan at Xmas.

When my Rift was delayed from April till the end of May, I rationalised that the silver lining to that cloud was that I now wouldn't need to get a placeholder 970 to enjoy my Rift with till Pascal 1080 came out. When I ordered my Strix on May 27th and my Rift came on May28th I thought the timing couldn't have worked out better. little did I know! Ironically it's getting to the point now we're I might be in a position to switch my order to a placeholder GPU again for the next major Pascal release instead!

That maybe true and when we buy these shiny new gpus we always know something bigger and better is coming we just don't know WHEN exactly so with that being said even if it's just an announcement and gives us a Xmas time of arrival personally I'd just wait. Me myself if it's 50% faster than 1080 then its around 70-80% faster than a 980 Ti since I'm at 4k id love that performance increase from a single gpu! :D

Will the Ti be 50% faster though, that is the question. I'm not convinced, unless AMD can put out something that will even threaten the top end.

People hit by typhoons, locking inside their houses to be safe; meanwhile GB wakes up to dissapointment that this means there is a delay on their GPU. Some things in life just need a little step back to realise what is really important.
