** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Having had to deal with MSI's RMA in the past I am not bitter in the slightest...

5 weeks for a portable and 6 weeks for a GPU.

Never again.

I've been lucky and never had to RMA any component. I did get a USB flash drive from OCUK where the memory logic controller blew. However, for the sake of £20 it wasn't worth sending in when it had a copy of all my research for the past few years on it (some of it unpublished) and I couldn't delete the files.

I hope I never have to RMA a GPU, I give my old ones away to friends and I don't have onboard graphics either. So I'd be pretty stuck!

Damn you'all getting your cards :D I'm still waiting for the clown card with no ETA.

Yeah it's a little deflating huh, I mean grats to all those getting their cards, have fun and all but having to wait at the very least another week (and that's being optimistic!) for my FTW is causing me some sleep issues!

Hell no... The people in that massive tip in Ghana were most of our WEEEE disposal ends up are pretty resourceful... any storage device gets to know the hammer intimately before going in the disposal bin.

I asked a question to KitGuru on their Strix review, during gaming the RPM of the fans was ~1600rpm, if I recall the max RPM of the Inno3D fans is 1400rpm, so noise between the 2 should be broadly similar but with much more cooling headroom on the strix (at the expense of increased noise).

I am not sure if I would be so certain of it. I mean the German website recorded their videos during gaming load and still Strix is 43 vs 36.5 DB for inno...

They have just posted update to G1 which turn out to be even quieter then Inno in its silent mode.

Give me more reviews, but good ones ! not FPS meters for 10 pages when all of those cards have same FPS anyway. Measure what matters. The noise!

They also showed the strix running at 2000rpm, other sites are showing a lower db and saying they run at 1600rpm, so...

+1 Almost all video reviewers that have been sent these cards for free just generically say it's quiet. When we get an actual video with the fans running and in large white letters saying gaming load we question that though huh?

I feel people question a truthful representation of the fans noise because they probably have the card on order and would rather not hear the truth.

I think at the end of the day, I want the FTW, and while I have a system thats just been build and only need a graphics card, I'm gonna feel better sticking with the one I actually want, as opposed to getting a different one, just so i can have it a week or 2 earlier.

indeed i wanted a FTW card at the start, then switched to a Classified.
However i have been tempted by the Founders cards. Had them before their fine but to loud for my liking its a long wait but it will be great once received :D

Yes I agree but its getting boring and even worse when other people are receiving cards that were supposed to be later than the FTW, also with FE being in stock in various places... I COULD get one now and no more being stuck on a 7 year old GPU, but I want the FTW for less than the FE so I just wish it would get in stock asap. Also I would really appreciate some info on when we are likely to receive them. If it is going to be 50 on the 17th, then a 2 week wait, another 50, 2 weeks, 50... I would probably get something else, but nobody is saying what will happen or how many batches and when.

If the FE was at normal reference MSRP, like previous generations, I would get one now, but I am not adding 20 for a worse card I would rather wait another 1-2 weeks. It's been 2 weeks since I pre-ordered my EVGA FTW 1080 and still no card :(

14th in the queue (Maybe closer with more people doing refunds)

Hopefully this will be the last week and cards arrive on the 17th?

You will be ok, but I was over 100 in the queue last time I asked... and if they are going to get 50 in the first batch, then it takes another 1-2 weeks for the next feeble batch of 50 cards, etc etc. I would just like some info on when I will be likely to actually get a card.

AFAIK, me and you are roughly 5 places apart in the queue. I personally have convinced myself that I'm not getting into the first batch. I'm just hoping the second batch isn't too long after. I think you'd maybe find the second batch to be bigger than the first. Maybe i'm just being optimistic though!
