OcUK Health Seekers: Post your progress pics

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? You're not too dissimilar a build to me before I started working out, however I was carrying a little more fat and perhaps a little bit more muscle.

Last time i was measured was a while back, but according to the weight / height machine in boots i am 5"8 and weigh 56k.

The weight is slightly under the 56.6 figure that i got from the doctor when i went to see him about two months ago, also at that time he caliper tested me and said my bf% was roughly 9.65%.

Also had blood tests / testosterone etc done before i started to see if there were any deficiences, was a while since i got the results but, they were in-line with average figures for my height.

Ok I underestimated how much I weighed before I started training, but I'm a similar height and weighed in at around 11st before lifting.

I'd say a 2 year lean bulk, 0.25lb (average) gain per week, which is quite conservative given the initial noob gains, you'd be almost 2 stone up and looking quite solid I imagine. In reality you'll want to be eating a fair bit over maintenance to begin with to take full advantage of the noob gains at the sacrifice of a little fat gain which can be sorted out later on down the line.

Aye, that's about what i'm thinking, i know it will take quite a while to put on some serious mass.

Myfirst goal would be to hit a certain gain ratio within 6 months which i had set at 15-20lbs, so im happy with that figure :D.

At 5'8 56kg you're probably about the same as where i started at 6'0 65kg

Me june last year,

didnt really get serious until about the september so it's a year and a quarter roughly for me to put on ~20kg. got a few current pics over the last few pages

According to a macro calculating spreadsheet i have, for my height and weight, my total calroies needed with a 20% increase would be 2747 a day, thats giving calculated with my bmr at 1477, multiplied by 1.55 for my activity level (moderate exercise 3-5 times a week) and the aforementioned increase of 20% lands me at the above figure.

I won't be taking this as a set in stone figure though, going to start making an effort to count my calories and macro intake in order to hit the above number and adjust it if i see to little gains.

Christ man, that really is amazing progress to how you are now

Forgot I had a decent mirror in the utility room so thought I'd take some pics which show things better than the bathroom mirror.

Really happy with things. I think I'll carry on putting on mass until I'm at around 13st 3lbs. Then I'll taper the calories back and strip a bit of fat. Never done this before but I think from my goals of looking lean I will have to do some kind of fat stripping.

12st 9lbs @ 5' 11".

I'm similar weight, only 4" taller than you and look like this:

FML. :D

Good, that seems about right. Glad to see you're putting effort into diet as well as training, something I definitely forgot to do when I started in this sport! Do you know what macros you're aiming to hit? If it were me, I'd be having 200g of protein, 100g fat and whatever carbs to bump up the calories to 2700.

Aye, that's about what i had worked out.

However i'm finding it rather frustrating atm, the people i live with have firmly entrenched in their beliefs that i should be eating 5-6 meals a day, that iifym etc is all rubbish, if i eat most of my calories in a single meal, i'll make myself fat.
Cant eat certain foods as they cause insulin spikes/ fat.

Need a protein shake within 30 minutes of workout etc.

So im in for a frustrating few months.

Just do what you wish, they'll snuff their noses up at you, but just show them the gains in 6-12 months time.

People eat 6 times a day, others eat 3 three times a day...others cram 3 meals in to 6 hours of the day and starve themselves for the rest of the day...It's all different approaches.

As was pointed out to me a week or two ago, by all means cram a shake down your throat, and yes, its 'best' to get it in within an hour after training, but to be honest, at our level it really won't make THAT much difference if you go over 30 mins or so :p

the way you're posing doesn't do your back justice.
I can't think of anything in particular to complement you on - simply because you have a very balanced physique and it all looks proportionate and in top shape. Keep up the good work.

You're pinching your right shoulder back, which in turn hides your lat. You'd look a lot thicker if you spread your lats slightly, but tbh you weren't really posing to show off your back.
