OcUK Mafia game thread - Game 3

I'm full of man flu and I can't make head nor tail of what is going on at the moment so in the interest of fairness I'm going to abstain from voting tonight. I wouldn't be able to make a fair or reasoned choice so I'm going to leave it in the capable hands of the rest of the town.

I'm not voting atm, the only one that seems suspicious is fortyseven and he is getting lynched at the moment anyway. There's too many quiet people at the moment! Let's see what happens over the next 24 hours.

Re-examining earlier thoughts in light of 47 not saving Egon: it looks a little less suspicious now, as a flip is better than a no-lynch for the town. I know that sounds odd, but the information you get from the flip is vital for looking at how people interacted with that person. However, the timing of the vote was very suspicious and 47 by his own admission isn't experienced enough to know that's the way it works. I still like him for Scum, but I prefer Egon - either Egon was pouncing on (Townie) 47's mistake in the same way he quickly pounced on Brabbinho's case on me, or he's running a bus on his scumbro to make himself look good.

I like this bus analogy. It's quite an interesting one. You see the flaw here is that the bus I am in has many drivers, it's not as if I'm the only one to have said "my, the last minute lynching was a bit suspicious" is it? I'm just one of many, in fact I've also agreed with some of the counter proposals people have put forward. He could be Town he could be Scum, I think his move makes him more likely the latter. Most of us are inexperienced, this is only my 2nd game, I wouldn't be jumping in on a last minute lynching though, it's suicide! The main question is... why would a townie do it? What possible advantage would they gain? None! A Mafioso on the other hand?

Your bus - yes, you are on one, well you are attempting to get one started - is all a bit flawed too. It's a bus made of irony. You see, you are trying to the pin scum badge on me because you say "I latched on to Brabinho's idea" - guess what, you're jumping on Brabinho's band wagon too as it was him who voted me first on the same premise you are voting me on.

Coincidence? Irony? or Hypocrisy? Still sounds like deflection tactics to me. Still no mention of the other residents either, plus you only referred to the last minute lynching after I said it was suspicious that you hadn't.

As I stated above I think FortySeven is Mafia and Jedi is now trying to cover up for him. The 3rd member is anyone's guess... my original hunch was Gooner Leroy, I have no reason to change that as yet, but I have nothing to go on there.

My impulse now says vote Jedi as I perceive him as a bigger threat to the town than Fortyseven. However Fortyseven already has one vote and voting that way will more more than likely result in a lynch. I await the thoughts of the rest of the town.

Looking for ties to me is a mistake.

I'd rather be lynched so it can be proved than have people waste time deciphering who is linked to me.

I think the best thing for the town is to have me out the game so that the ties to me are broken and people can start investigating how others responded to my stupid mistake.

At this point saying that is just going to keep people looking for them :p

^^This pretty much!

I'd like to believe but I'm just not feeling as though the last minute vote was a mistake.

I like Jedi for at least another scum for the arguments put forth (deflection, misdirection) but who the last could be I don't know!

I'll repeat this bit:

I think the best thing for the town is to have me out the game so that the ties to me are broken and people can start investigating how others responded to my stupid mistake.

Can I vote for myself? I think the best thing for the town is to be sure what exactly I am.

Investigating ties to myself will be a wild goose chase and ensure the Mafia have the upperhand, if not the win.

I think Fortyseven is mafia and his main accomplice is Jedi. The latter being the more dangerous. So that's where I think I'll put my vote. As for the 3rd member I have a couple of people in mind but I'm going to watch a little longer

Day 1 vote order:

Brabbinho votes Egon (1)
Killswitch votes Leprechaun (T) (1)
Leprechaun votes Brabbinho (1)
Fortyseven votes Leprechaun (T) (2)

There was hardly anthing to go on during the first day to really justify a lynching imo. I find it strange that two people would vote for the same person based on absolutely nothing. I feel that one of their buddies was put on death row.

When Jedi pointed out that Egon was enroute to being lynched (unaware of the new voting rules), Egon immediately replied with

Indeed, but you didn't see me panic voting to save my skin or lynching a townie.

Possibly knowing that his two henchmen would save him?

The whole lynching of Leprechaun just doesn't make sense unless one of the mafia's head was about to be in the noose. Yes I know the votes were tied and so no lynching would have taken place but could they have risked leaving the voting level for someone else to vote in the last minute for Egon too? Also, were they fully aware about the new voting rule and thought seeing as Egon was voted for first, he'd be hung?

Now, I don't suspect Killswitch at the moment but I'm still very suspect of Egon and FortySeven. I think Killswitch's vote was just a stab in the dark. He has been much more quiter this game though so I'll keep an eye on him. Egon will disasscociate himself from FortySeven saying that he's not trusted him since the vote but I think this could be a clever ploy to keep us all focused on FortySeven whilst the remaining two mafia can carry on with their work seeing as 2 mafia have been enough in the past 2 games to win it.

Brabbinho, why did you vote for Egon on Day 1?

I put out a hypothesis about Jedi being mafia. At the time I thought he was innocent so it was a ruse to see if anyone jumped on the idea to get Jedi lynched. The only one who agreed then was Egon.

Yes, but who? We know Leprechaun's vote was honest because he's flipped Town, so he wasn't voting Brabbinho for Egon's benefit. Of the two votes on Leprechaun, Killswitch's is less suspicious because there was still plenty of time for momentum to resume on Egon.

47: self-voting is permitted in Mafia, but it's an anti-Town move because it reduces the need for Scum to vote for you. Useful though your flip would be, we're not going to catch the Scum if the Town are busy committing suicide.

If 47 votes for himself then I'm going to assume he's a lunatic and we should start calling nearby asylums :D

I'm away for the next couple of days but I'll check in on my phone, I might just be more quiet than normal.
