What have I done? New update when I logged in and now cannot get on the server. Bah, I wanted to chest up my stuff.

firs get the new client so you can choose to update when you want.

then down load this

Heyy make sure you join and then register in the group called mincraft clicky and then register here clicky French is away until tomorrow so you will have to wait till then also we are moving maps so the server Will be down for a day or so but when it's back up and running I can show you around if you want?

you dont need the bin file just the minecraft.jar file will do it

On my way back now. Just stuck in Birmingham new street on my phone atm. Ideally I'll be sorting things today assuming other admins are available to help. If all goes to plan we'll copy everything. We or I will update you if this changes.

I got the game this weekend after much debating. Found the Survival mode surprisingly addictive, although I keep dying and then cannot find my hideout when I respawn

Registered with the group, looking forward to trying out the server when I am approved!

Currently pre-generating the new map (to avoid server crashing when generating chunks).

As I've said before, people need to be aware that they may need to re-landscape around their new 'homes'.

Estimated time for server copying to commence ~1 hour (may be slightly sooner or later).

Are you generating all 10k x 10k?

I suspect we might need a few days of landscaping with dirt to make things look neat, but that will be all part of the fun

We're going with 7.5k * 7.5k to start with as 10k * 10k generated a 1.7GB map :eek:

We'll be able to expand as needed in future. The borderguard will be set to 7.5k for now though.

(agreed /re the dirt too)
