OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Not trying to stir trouble, but everyone should remember to put up sign post's around an area they are working on. Otherwise it's impossible to track abandoned projects or tell if somoene is building just to grief an existing structure.

For example, someone half built a spawner within feet on Andy's rollercoaster and his farm - unreasonably close, despite there being plenty of space a reasonable distance away from his work. No one owned up to building it or left any signs, so it was levelled with TNT :D

The world is a community area and if you are going to start a new build that you want to keep, stick up a sign with your name and the start date. Doesn't take more than 1 minute and then if someone has an issue with your build they know who to speak with. People will respect your build and, as in real life, if they have a problem with it they can talk with you to sort it out.

What if there was a sign and someone removed it?

This one was different, Andy had done one layer of a spawner, i.e 1 block high before we started the big one, inside his land, in the middle of his coaster, farm, house and someone finished it, asked a number of players who done it but no answer so it got taken down. I have left all my signs up around my area, would suggest everyone clearly marks boundarys and leaves signs up, I had a look at some houses near mine last night and have no idea who owns them, would be nice to be able to say to people, that it looks nice.

Just thought I'd put a positive paragraph in to break things up a little :). The majority of players I've came across on our server have been nice guys, helpful, chatty.

But as with anywhere / anything in life some people are just plain asshats getting off on griefing. Think how sad you must be to get enjoyment out of that, we should pity those sad individuals.

Windle, can you find out who was patrolling around my house and setting off either TNT or creepers please?

It was between 7 last night till about 12 today.

Cheers.

Not 100% sure if that tracking mod is active at the moment, hence the rise is idiots.

I don't have a problem with this. Put some obsidian in with a 'wait' sign to hold it in position, then give them the option to switch the track to your house by hitting a button hooked up to redstone. Don't forget you'll need to reset the track after though!

Going off what apez said here, I now have a working redstone circuit consisting of a button, pressure plate and a NOR latch (and inverter) that resets the junction once a cart has gone down my track. I think this should be used for all stops that come of the main lines.

To have a closer look just head down the southern line until you reach my stop off.

Is the reason you're not running any particular mods/etc due to server resources? The LinkTart dedi server could be used in theory, if that's any help.

I don't think so, its a limitation of beta software and the plugins being created by general modders so they aren't the most stable of mods. Not sure if multiplay is limiting the access to the server to change these mods or not, that would be something Windle or garsands would have to answer :)

There used to be a protect command that might need to come back as support for /bbhere hasn't been to great I think? That's why its been removed as its been causing issues and not working properly.

The protect command is set by a mod who can protect an area to only be usable by that person, this includes chests.

CAN I NOT HAVE ANYTHING THAT STAYS INTACT IN THIS GAME!!??

Spent 3 hours on my new house last night, just logged in to find this!

Does it matter who's house it is? Clealy someone has caused damage and you just left it.

Thanks a bunch.

I (toString) put that sign there. I think it was late yesterday afternoon. However there was no damage to any part of the house when I placed to the sign. So it happened after that.

I was just curious who's house it was really as it looked nice, but it was empty/grass floors/no signs anywhere to show who claimed/who's house.

It's possible someone accidently set a creeper off, as I seem to remember there was no lights inside/no doors. However, sad no one fixed it if they did accidently let of a creeper. However that happens quite a lot. People can't be bothered to fix damage they cause.

Ok. I've vented my frustration and just cracked on.

The small farm/garden and shed is prepared for some good harvesting.
There's a swimming pool.
A small cave/sauna pool thing.
A fountain.

Still need to do some work on the landscape to tidy it up a bit and also furnish the house. The kitchen is pretty much complete though.

I'm pretty impressed with it :)

Also.. who's my neighbour as i've not seen anyone use it? It's the house on stilts with the cool water elevator.

I have just reinstalled the Big Brother Mod it's now back working for now.
So behave..... I have my finger on the prem ban button just waiting.

snip of the logs it's showing
