OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Hey guys, would you mind adding me to the whitelist please? Haven't been an official member of the forums before but I've been lurking around for years, I live just down the road in stoke :)

I registered on linktart a few days ago using my forum name, and can also name Scarath1 as a reference :)

Also, has anyone considered making an official OcUK texture pack so the server can been seen the way it is intended?

I've been thinking of this for a while, i've never got round to looking how to make em! just, i think it'l be awesome :D i might have a look to see how its done and play around with it!

Yeah, should be a bit of fun! I was hoping to mix and match from various different texture packs but I think you run into the problem of number of pixels. I think 64x64 is about right as it is not too realistic or grainy but still holds a good amount of quality. My requests would be cobblestone and sandstone from Misas and maybe wooden planks too. I think the blocks like iron, lapis and gold need improving too. We need to see what everyone else wants if we want to get most people to use it.

quick question, does LogBlock do a spherical radius from your position or a cylindrical radius around your position ?

seeing the same results from various elevations (when keeping x and z the same) (which says to me cylindrical)

On a seperate note SpadUK ...OMG i love your castle WIP (as do a lot of others)

A simple couple of questions for someone hopefully:

A fantastic example of minecart track:



Orange squares are un-powered power-rails, red squares are powered power-rails. I jump in my cart at A, press a button which powers the power-rail and my cart shoots along happily to B. Can someone tell me...

1 - How can I get the cart to stop along the track (at the powered rails or elsewhere) for a few seconds to allow me to jump out if I want and if I don't jump out, for it to carry on as it was. I used to be able to use signs with [Hold for 5] but they didn't work last time I tried (possibly before the minecart addon was removed)

2 - If I decide after starting the cart, how I can get it to branch off and go to C without stopping and baring in mind that the track may be very very long between A, B and C (in this example).

I did a quick test on the clock you might need and have found when you go a bit of a distance away from the timer is seems to stop id way.

I am looking at making a track from the new spawner to my mega build
so can run some tests on it for you from there is you wish.

Also note some bug fixes from notch regards buttons and not being able to press them. This should make the rail system easer to use.
Alos i think hind made a good video of his roundabout system. I think that would work much better for junctions. Hind if you want we can work on the look of it and
tidy it up or if you have done so already could you supply a schematic for it.

No problem. I've spent the last 3 hours (approx) of online time exploring a massive mine. I'm sure it's the biggest I've seen (no tunneling through joining up to other mines, this is one on its own). I look forward to seeing the next underground map.
Yeah, I saw the roundabout system which worked well but looked confusing. A schematic of it would be great!

Awesome, i'l get on at some point and we can sort out a nice clean version of mah roundabout! it uses a fair bit of redstone, i fact i'l get working on a wiring schematic in a few mins (as that is the complicated bit).

meh, i tried to get a clean paint version with lines, it just looks even more complicated xD.
Problems with this diagram: (i have edited the previous version and re-uploaded)
1: With the way redstone works and the size of this circuit, we'd need to use repeaters - this will create a potentiated on signal on the circles that will just keep going around, i have an ingenious way to solve this that may work, otherwise i have another way to work around it that takes up more room.---------------EDIT--------------- I am being derp, i can just make the wire end after each memory block (on the coloured wires) And logically removing some reset wires (as you wont need to reset the whole grid in order to travel through the first exit).
2: It maybe be far too simple, there are numerous problems with sticking redstone near each other, the best way to solve this might be to have a small towerblock of circuits, one layer for each side - thus as above, more room is needed.

-those squares next to each other on each side are a memory latch thingy.

Me and Hind spoke about getting his roundabout set up just outside the station at spawn so there can be a network for every area of the map, there's signs placed about if the people who built the rail & paths in those parts can check them out and see what you think.

I think the question mark placed at the link from my arena is the Cathedral site. I can't remember who's building that but let me know if you want it linked up. Also I've been wondering for ages what the big grey building between Joachim & Yrthilian's is... if whoever owns it wants it linked up we can do that too :)

If you're talking about my cathedral, then you're way off =P Mine is pretty much in a direct line West of spawn (in fact straight along the West arm of the compass you've drawn on there =P)

That looks like an impressive rail network. Ignoring your compass marked on the map, to the north of spawn I have been tunneling my mine track which goes a fair way, and Halfmad has also created a pretty long minecart track. Would be cool to link them all to spawn somehow.
