Depends, if you want a server which you can just connect to using your external IP then yes you will need to forward the Minecraft port, but if using hamachi dont you need to forward hamachis port?

In my opinion the spawn is a bit of a mess - People's builds are darted everywhere - It would be nice to start a fresh and for the spawn build a small town/city with a little more structure
Just a thought of course - others might like how it is now
I'm with Marky but I've been shot down for suggesting this before so I stopped mentioning it
If there was another world reset we wouldn't be copying anything from the old world as it was a huge amount of work.
I suspect a large number of players would be strongly opposed to losing all their builds. If everyone wants a world reset then it wouldn't be an issue to do one though, of course.

ell over half the map hasn't even been touched.
also last time the spawn was planed it was completely abandoned after a few weeks as everyone wanted to build their own thing not a little box.

why?
most of the map is untouched want to start from scratch nuke your inventory so you can wonder off and start again.

Zumii is working on something that should hopefully help this and make the map feel kind of new
This could even be used to move spawn if needed.

Really - I'm just trying to make things a little more interesting... Minecraft is starting to get a little dull for me... I can't think of any interesting or new ideas to build etc. and a new start would be lots of work to get involved with together

been done, many times, it means everyone just has a tiny bit of land builds a little box then once it's finished leaves and never comes back to it.
Not really, everyone wonders off and does their own thing.

I am however tempted to create an additional world/server that has crazy rules (like some kind of pvp type thing).

I saw a server the other day which was on what they called "Extreme" mode which has PvP on etc. - I hadn't really thought about it until then, but that sounds awesome! I imagine it would add a level of tension while you mine and build, always looking over your shoulder incase someone is spying on you ready to kill you and take your goods Plus, people would have to think about their builds differently (I.e. add traps, make places more secure). Every-man(or zumi)-for-him(her)self mode
I can see pistons being useful if they remove mobs taking damage when they fall into water. You have them falling on a solid surface and a piston on a timer could push any drops into a water channel every few seconds.
I think we should have a PvP part of the world. Just mark it out and turn PvP on on that area so it would be optional. Would be pretty fun! I'm hoping to have PvP enabled in the Colosseum when that it done too!

Honestly, i don't know, i've just set up this hamachi thing and hoped my friends could connect to the server i make on minecraft using the hamaci network thing.
