OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

I do tend to agree - I have no idea why we even have a forum at Linktart - If it's an "OcUK Server" it should be discussed on the OcUK forums

because not everyone wants to try and hold a discussion across a 300 + page thread?

and an individual thread o nehre would just get spammed by others.

Too true

Where I would help general discussions etc happen here, I'd go to the forum on LT to discuss anything major or have something specific to ask I guess

Still doesn't change my opinion :p - It's not that difficult is it? And the very few threads that there are on that forum, it wouldn't confuse things very much.

Checking one forum is better than checking two is my point - I don't check the LT forum and so will miss anything that is posted there.

Only my opinion though guys - I understand where you guys are coming from...

It's just that from no where there's discussion of... oh we should be posting on this forum, not on the LT forum... Where did it come up that someone said otherwise?

It's like when someone dares to mention 'world reset', there's suddenly 2 pages of people talking about how to design the new spawn area.

I'd rather people used the Linktart forums for server related stuff, I seem to be the only one that checks it these days!

As far as I'm concerned suspensions/bans are the business of the admins, I'm not interested in their thoughts behind it. We don't play on a democratically elected admin server, if you really don't agree simply move server. There's no need to make things more complicated, time consuming and frankly political - once a reason is given and the person is banned there's little point arguing over it. This is a game, lets concentrate on having fun and those who break the rules get shown the door. Discuss all you want, express your opinion but I don't see a point in nit-picking on admin discussions, which let's face if people were really honest about this is why they want them made public.

You guys experience any griefing on the server? I recently bought mc after being told how great it was.I spent hours building a mansion and tree farm ect to have it destroyed. My friends experienced the same thing and after asking around we were told it was a admin who was in a bad mood.tbh I really don't have the appetite to play it anymore if **** like this happens all the time.

Incredibly rare on our server Muzza as it's whitelisted and the admins are all on prozac ;) Have a look at the carto's , nobody is going to product builds like that with nasty admins or players around :)

current daytime carto:

http://zoom.it/qbDP

Have an explore (you can zoom in)

Anything deleted in malice can be restored by an admin from the backup which is taken every 20mins anyway.

This is probably the best server you'll find for the amount of people and the peace of mind of your builds. (Even if it is greiefed the damage can be rolled back).

Well this server has a whiteless so random people can't just join it and destroy stuff, which keeps a vast majority of idiots out. Plus the admins/community on the server for the most part is good, and if someone does destroy large portions of your work then I'm sure the admins would be kind enough to rollback that area for you to a state before it was damaged.

Don't let a few bad people on a few bad servers ruin the game for you, this can be an amazing game but what makes it so fun at times is the community you can be part of.

On the subject of the linktart forums, I think they are a good idea, although I havn't used them much myself, because if I was doing anything interesting I could create a build log, full of schematics and plans/pictures for what I'm building, all in its own thread. Such a thread doesn't realy have a place here on the OcUK forums, and would just clutter up this thread too much if everyone did it here.

I'm guessing all this discussion relating to the linktart vs ocuk forum is also linked to the mods forum? There really isn't that many posts relating to a given incident, for example the most recent incident had about 3-4 posts linked to it. We have them for logs of previous offences and generally teach numpties like myself how to use the admin plugins :D

I still think the linktart forum is a good idea for players to setup build logs and such where 1 thread is associated to one community build etc and then more often than not most players that do that would then post an image etc on this thread any ways so you wouldn't miss out on anything.

Yea I have played a few games of star craft and other games with guys from overclockers and they were all good lads and very mature guess it is just my server then.If I register will a couple of my friends be allowed to join the server too if they register even though they are not members here on the forums?

If you read the whole thing you would have seen I was just agreeing with what Tummy said previously...

Tummy said:
Would it not be better to have everything in here except the mod talk?

I said, yeah I agree and said infact I don't even see a point for the LT forum.

It's not like we're trying to "confuse a simple issue" at all - It's called a discussion and it's where people give opinions
