The new beta version of Minecraft has just been released which obviously causes some issues with multiplay’s servers so here is how to downgrade your client so you can continue playing on the server until a Hey0/Bukkit update is released:

1. Download the “older” version from Fileplay
2. Make sure your client is updated to 1.2 then quit your client
3. Extract this to:

Windows: %appdata%/.minecraft/

Mac: User/Library/Application Support/minecraft

4. Re-open your client and you can now connect to your Multiplay server!

I can update the server to latest revision and still maintain a whitelist, you'd lose tp etc until Bukkit arrives though!

For anyone who doesn't feel that their server is ready for (Craft)Bukkit, Meaglin has updated hMod to work with server version 1.2.01. I tested several plugins and most functionality seems to be working, but no guarantees. You can compile it yourself from the GitHub repo, or download it from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19043477/Minecraft_Mod.jar (as of this commit.) As for plugins, most that work with b133 will work with this one, unless they access the minecraft_server.jar class names directly, in which case the author will have to update them. For those of you looking for CraftBook (sk89q and Lymia are busy with Bukkit I believe), M4411K4 has an updated fork here which you can build on the above hMod or download directly from here.

The area next to spawn has been cleared up and now hosts the Minecart to nowhere! Which is going to be a track to the edge of the known map so that when the server is updated to the latest patch people can get to new areas quicker for the new ores etc

Server has been updated to latest version and should have hMod. As I can't connect at work can someone try updating their client and connecting to server 1 cheers
