OcUK Nvidia RTX series review thread

So what have I missed? Should I sell my Titan xp and buy a 2080ti then?
Basically expectations were diminished over the past few weeks to then get reviews that prove the performance somehow is worse still. At this moment the 2080 isn't worth it and the 2080 Ti, although has performance, it doesn't have enough performance to justify the price.

Yeah but I like new shiny things.........;)

I expected in the worst case scenario the 2080 to perform 5% better than a AIB 1080 Ti. Somehow it has managed to be worse with the 2080 (Being overclocked by default) on par or worse than a 1080 Ti FE (Non overclocked).

I don't kniw where your getting that misinfo from but the 2080 performs better than 1080ti in nearly every review benchmark released today that I've seen by about 5-10% and anywhere up to 50% for professional use like rendering in blender.

Unless your putting it under water I wouldn't trust an OC with that trash cooler on the FE

Haha that's hilarious. Calling the best reference air cooler ever designed "trash". The level of deliberate intellectual dishonesty being shown here is unreal.

So I went from desktop GTX 980Ti and I7-4790K to Notebook 1070 with I7-6820HK and the notebook outperforms the desktop. The 980Ti is in the top 25% of all benches (with this set up) measured by 3dmark firestrike.

This isn't an upgrade, per se, it's an insult.

Well, I appreciate your opinion, but I don't find that to be accurate. Most reviewer's benchmarks I've noticed have different results, but a vast majority show the 2080 FE (Factory OC) either 1-3 FPS better than a 1080 Ti FE (Not factory OC) just as much as they show that same 1080 Ti out performing that 2080. With this said I am doing my best to defend the 2080.

That's nice dear.... What has that got to do with a 2080/Ti?

The cooler has been quite badly designed because they have massively restricted the air flow as pointed out by a fair few reviewers with the FE running 10-15 degrees hotter than AIB cards hitting well over 80 degrees during load on an open board system so it will be even hotter inside a case so maybe stop trolling the forum because your comments are not funny or interesting.

To be fair, it's still the best reference cooler AMD or Nvidia have ever made

That's not to say it's great though.

Well, looks good but thermally you would expect more seeing as it has 2x larger fans and a far bigger vapour chamber than the 9 or 10 series ever had.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with that.
