Got to be gregeff for the win!! I think we shall also see a gold or silver cup this round too. Such an amazing powerful shot! Good luck to everyone who entered, just about managed to get mine in on time this month after faffing about whether it fitted the criteria or not.

Gregeff's shot is good.
But it's a bit cliche'd to me (In that every A level photography student's books were full of similar stuff) and hard to take seriously.

Anyway, good look to all.

(I don't mean to be mean, i just think the theme is overdone a bit (to me anyways))

Most of DA is full of the same too. Girl + blood + bath = winnar! Still, I think his is a great shot

I can see where you are coming from, I've been to a few end of year shows by photography student and there are always about 20% of them who have shots like these. Gritty, staged, a bit emo and trying to reflect life in a series of photographs. One would be some girl sitting on a old crappy couch starring at the space with her make up a mess from what it seems cryinig. Or a guy holding a needle with some fake drugs in the background. All shot in some dinky dirty apartment. Not that it isn't good but also done before year after year.

But, here is a big but. Like someone once said

"There are no original ideas, only how you execute them."

And in this regards, Gregeff's shot is beautiful. Executed the idea brilliantly.

Yeah Im having that problem too cykeys photo wont load even when I refresh the page, use F5 or show picture fron drop down menu.

I do like gregeff's shot but I think its alittle unfair to declare it the winner, there are some other very good photos there and its really up to the judges and how they feel about the shot as to if it wins or not.

Im I know im a bit of a newbiee but I rank danza's photo very highly and yeah gregeff is up there too but its not up to us. I think hoodmeister has a fantastic photo too but maybe lacking a bit on the emotion side.

Anyway I wsih you all the best of luck in this comp

I dont think so. It has been done time and time again. All this self harm/emo stuff is really quite pathetic. Not gregeff, just the idea. It has university graduate written all over it. Not much thought process envolved, just another emo shot in an effort to show emotion.

But like i said, there are no original ideas, only down to execution of the idea.
