I'm not suggesting that you be removed, it's just that you can't guess maxes like that. Your max is just the most you've lifted, so that would be 180kg.

In terms of fitting in 1rm tests into your routine (not that you should if you don't care about it) you could do it at the end of a session or during a deload week.

Fair enough, I'll come back with my lifted weights at the end of next week, all will be for reps.

I've heard deload a few times, what's the idea there?

It's a period of time (usually a week, sometimes 2 or more) where you don't train. However sometimes you can deload with volume, for example by cutting sets or reps down dramatically but keeping the same weights.

Ah, yea I normally take a week off now and again after hitting it hard.

LiE -------- 140+ / 130+ / 180(s)+ ------ [80] ---- 450

Should go up soon with the strength training, although I'm staying off the bench press for a while because it's not doing me any good.

Still very respectable lifts mate! 140kg for reps on bench is very impressive.

Next time you have a week off you could try trying for a 1rm for each lift on mon/weds/fri. It won't hurt your deload and you might be surprised at your numbers :)

For example, bench on monday might look something like:
barx20
60x8
100x3
120x1
130x1
140x1
145x1
...
...

I know it's not much +5KG on Deadlift since my last update but my new 2x20Kg plates turned up today and I couldn't resist trying them out, I figure since it's my last set of BIG lifts for a while I should record it :D

T1Cybernetic -------- 85 / 155 / 190 -------- [100] ---- 430

Failed 200KG though which was a bummer but it was right after 2x190 So I was kinda overdoing it :p I'm shrinking too, I've lost about an inch in just over a year, Is that normal?

"EDIT" The next time I do some 1RM I will video the lot of them just for video sake :D And I'll post up the youtube links.

Had another little competition last night so some new totals from me :)

Squat: 160kg
Bench: 110kg
Dead: 220kg
Weight: 82kg

Some lads were taking vids and pics throughout so I'll see if I can get hold of any.

I'd be interested to see a vid of your squat, it'll be interesting to see your form considering it's quite a bit weaker than your deadlift.

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for ideas on how to improve on the weight I lift.

Currently I'm stuck on 70kgs for bench, squat and deadlifts. If I were to add 5 kgs to any of these, my reps get much shorter and my form suffers, it seems like a ceiling.

Maybe I haven't got enough time but I do 3 weights sessions a week and I have either chest/bench/squat on its own in one of these sessions.

What do your sets, reps and weights look like in your sessions? There are no possible worlds where your bench should be the same as your deadlift

;)
