OcUK Rolling Road 9: Photos + Graphs

A couple of very short vids:

I was finding it very hard to keep the camera on the road so I gave up in the end!

Oh my God :D

Thanks all for an amazing day, you're all too awesome and I was the only person to have a failure

129.6bhp... well chuffed! And 193 ft lbs torque too! Thanks especially to:

nokinidea - for the RR!
agw - for having an awesome car
Fox - for actually being reasonable in real life :p
Phate - for not killing us with his ZS
TaKeN - for making my tractor look a bit better...

And everyone else, today was actually the best day of my life

That's impressive considering I wasn't even there :p

Big thanks to Rob for managing the day, sorry I couldn't be there but glad you all had fun :)

The cars look great as always, and I think I need another go in Andys 420T :D

Oh yea, I almost forgot, thanks to both MrLol for the ride in his Vectra VXR and to Confused for the ride in his Legnum VR4 and thanks to Invader for organising everything :)

The Vectra can really move I'll give it that, and has very good seats, with all it's active suspension trickery on, it did not seem to understeer as badly as the press made out at all, it did seem to have a very, 'sledge hammer' feel to it from where I was sitting compared to my own ST220 though, very American actually.

The Legnum was more surprising though as the Vectra is more powerful and was only 2 up when I went for a ride in it, the Legnum however was 4 up and to me, felt faster, it just seemed to pull with a vengeance right across the rev range to ..well ...you know, naughty speeds!

For the price paid the VR4 is a hell of a car, still, the running costs of it are no small thing, a service every 4500 miles :o ...has more fluids in it than the Aegean, all of them expensive, from what Confused said, if you are going to buy one, you better be ware of the steep running costs. Fuel consumption is about the same as mine though. It's a 12 year old Japanese family estate car, and it goes like a greased weasel up a drain pipe. It's road holding and cornering ability is pretty astounding, and Confused wasn't even pushing it hard, I could feel it from the passenger seat though to a degree, it had so much grip. Quick car!

oh :( looks hard unfourtunately I dont have anyone around to help me anymore so it may be a garage job but Ill have a better look at it

It isn't hard as such mate, just time consuming really - the fiddly part is the turbo pipes and if you replace them with braided ones from Hose Solutions it takes all that pain away.
I really wouldn't pay a garage to do it, they will bum you to the ends of the earth for labour.

Yeah, it was... umm... kinda loud :o

Still uploading.... :(

Anyway, been having a word with a chap off mg-rover.org last night, apparently if I got a 400 bubble shape with the NASP T series, the subframe is correct and a turbo lump can be chucked in straight away!

Fancy coming to Tarleton sometime?
